The so-so

What?
Farm fresh milk topped with pudding & house-made bubble, fine ice and served with house-made caramel sauce.

Verdict?

The not so good:
- This certainly belong to my 'so-so' category. Didn't really find anything fantastic or interesting about this drink. Then again, perhaps I'm not a great fan of 'farm fresh' milk which I guess is the selling point of the 'Stirring Milk' menu since it's almost in every single one of them.
- Why? Because for those of u who had tasted milk harvested fresh from a farm, it doesn't taste anything like what's sold in Teafolia. Teafolia's tasted more like commercial fresh milk bought off the shelve. If it's real farm fresh milk, I'm not sure how many will like it.
- Bubbles/pearl: Not as good as Koi's. Some had lost its shape or maybe I got the bubbles/pearls from the bottom of the pot?

The ok:
- It's not so sweet which is just nice for me. Then again they didn't ask for sugar level and everyone's taste is different so they can improve on this by having the option. (I have to qualify that I got this drink free as part of the grand opening promo so maybe they already were instructed to prepare it as such)
- Pudding: They didn't state the favour but I think it's caramel-milk-egg

Menu:
I haven't had the chance to sample the other drinks in the extensive menu but a quick glance reveals that they don't have the typical milk tea series. Their menu's broken up into fruit teas (700ml; $4.80-5.90), classic tea (700ml; $3.30-$3.90), stirring milk (500ml; $4.50-5.50), smoothies (500ml; $4.50-6.20)and slushies (500ml; $3.90-4.80).

Summary:
Teafolia's refreshing take on fruit teas and their focus on milk-based drinks separates it from its competitors. Maybe it's a strategic move to not offer what your competitors offer.
The myriad hues of their tea series, carefully crafted ingredient placement within each cup makes it worthy for food photography enthusiasts.
If you are looking for something new to try then Teafolio's for you.

Suggestion:
If they can work to bring down their price by say ... $0.50 to make it more competitive with mainstay players like Koi, Liho, Gong Cha (come back?) and Each-a-Cup; then I foresee that they might be able to stay on the scene long enough to make a breakthrough.
