Be it rain or shine, walking on sunshine allows you to seek shelter and comfort in its tranquil, garden-like ambience. A Korean style cafe cum salon with Instagrammable OOTD spots and insta-worthy desserts such as:
Soufflé pancake [$20.50] - 3 fluffy, cotton-like pancakes served with vanilla cream, mixed nuts and mixed fruits, the kaleidoscopic aesthetics here is indeed a feast for the sight! 💯🤩 Though not the best soufflé pancakes I’ve had, I do enjoy its soft and fluffy texture which came with an eggy fragrance, along with the complement of smooth and mildly sweetened vanilla cream, fresh & juicy strawberries, grapes and blueberries, coupled with a pleasant crisp factor from the granola clusters and pumpkin seeds.
This whimsical cafe also serves a mixture of Western and Korean fusion cuisine & bar bites such as:
1️⃣ Kimchi Pancake [$10]
2️⃣Kimchi fries [$10]
My love for Kimchi can never get my eyes away from spotting it instantly on the menu! Had initially ordered the Kimchi pancake but due to a miscommunication, we got an extra portion of kimchi fries as well. Double kimchi = Double happiness ✌🏻. Flavourful, tangy with a aromatic tinge of subtle spice, the kimchi pancake is served with spicy mayo as a dipping sauce, which would have been better if the edges were more crisp with a less starchy interior. On the other hand, the kimchi fries comprises of shredded chicken breast, kimchi, spicy mayo, sour cream and chives atop a bed of crisp potato fries. Flavorful with a pleasant crunch factor from the tangy kimchi, the fries would have been better if they were more well seasoned with salt.
3️⃣Korean style fried chicken with Yangnyeom sauce [$23.50]
My favourite dish of the day which certainly brought back fond memories of my Korea exchange days. What’s missing is just a pint of beer for a complete Chi-maek experience! 🍗🍺 A half chicken portion (oh boy the portion is really really huge here ; although not obvious from the photo, hence do share or come with an empty stomach) where the fried chicken is deep fried to an ideal crisp perfection on its exterior batter, well marinated in Yangnyeom sauce that’s sweet and slightly spicy. Worth getting your hands messy and sticky for! 🤭 Also served with pickled carrots, cucumbers and radish that serves as a refreshing palate cleanser to the sinful but delectable meal.
4️⃣ Iberico Pork Jowl [$22.50]
Flavorful and tender pork jowl served with romaine lettuce, fermented cabbage, red and green chilli, along with pick mustard chilli cane with a pleasant umami note.
Lastly, do not forget to end off ur meal with some blossom tea or cleanse juices here such as:
➰Antoinette’s affair lychee [$9]: The characteristic fruity sweetness of lychee was distinct albeit subtle, which complements the aromatic blossom tea.
➰Orange cleanse 🍊 [$8]: Carrot, pineapple, orange and lemon juice - perfect way to detox and rejuvenate your soul with this citrus and Vitamin-packed cleansing juice!⚡️

Only available during the weekend brunch menu (11am-4pm), this breakfast burger bun features a 130g chicken sausage patty, fried egg, rocket and miso bearnaise sauce sandwiched within two toasted demi brioche bun. Along with a side of tater tots, perhaps this might seem like an atas version of Macdonald’s McMuffin but imo, this was definitely much better (and bigger in portion too)! 💖 But of course, the pricetag that came along would be much higher too 🙈.The chicken sausage patty was tender, juicy and flavourful, topped with miso bearnaise sauce which added a tangy, piquant note, resembling a hollandaise sauce, albeit less buttery and creamy, one that’s lighter to the palate. Swipe thrice to reveal an outburst of egg-citing surprise that awaits from the fragile sphere of yolk which elicits a vibrant response with a slight provoke, one that’s an egg-citement for the sight (and sense ofc☺️)! 💖 The brioche bun comes slightly toasted, while retaining a soft, pillowy interior along with a subtle lingering buttery fragrance. Tater tots are done to an. ideal crisp exterior, a good accompaniment to the burger and great substitute for fries anytime! ✌🏻Homemade Chilli sauce and Ketchup are provided too for dipping, upon request! 🍅🌶 .

Eggs Benedict with a twist, this would greatly appeal to those who adore spice in their food! 🔥 Instead of the usual hollandaise sauce, this comes topped up with cheddar cheese, which I would personally prefer if it’s melted for a greater cheesier impact👊🏻! Beneath that layer of cheese lies a poached egg which comes with a slight flow (swipe to view), gong bao chicken drenched in a thick, starchy and spicy-sweet sauce, along with cashew nuts, spring onions, leeks on a toasted English muffin. Along with sides of baked tomato and fried potato chunks, the latter was simply addictive, which was well sautéed with an ideal crisp exterior. Being one who adores spice, the spiciness of the gong bao gravy was one that managed to hit spot on for my palate, coming with a fiery kick that might be quite overwhelming for the faint hearted. Somehow it reminded me of Mala without the numbing sensation yet retaining a tangy, flavourful profile. Though prices here are on the steeper side, the cosy ambience and welcoming, amicable service made it up for it! 👍🏻✨ .

Highly recommended by crew here, this certainly did not disappoint and was in fact, the most impressive dish among all we tried! 💖 Sandwiched within the thin tortilla sheets lies an interior of fluffy tom yum scrambled eggs, chicken ham, sliced tomatoes, Belgian cheddar cheese, sriracha aioli, topped with coriander, pomegranate and grated parmesan. Along with a drizzle of truffle oil, the tom yum scrambled eggs was clearly the highlight and winking factor here, with its aromatic tinge of spice and fragrance incorporated into the fluffy and slightly creamy scrambled eggs. Along with the addition of cheese and sriracha aioli that added a tangy piquant note, the thin crusted tortilla sheets came with an ideal crisp exterior. Topped with pomegranate seeds that were juicy with a burst of tangy, fruity sweetness, a refreshing counterbalance to the other savoury elements. Love how the dish scored well in both visuals and palatability, something that is always a challenge striking a perfect balance between the two .

- Blueberry & Lemon curd muffin [$5.50]
-Small Batch Granola [$8.50]
-Blue Bell Latte [$6] .
.
Monday blues made no more when this Blue Bell Breakfast set officially launches on 17th September (Monday) at @tiongbahrubakery ‘s flagship store at Eng Hoon Street! ✌🏻 In collaboration with @tiffanyandco , this antioxidant-rich all day set gets its blue visuals naturally from Butterfly pea flowers as well as fresh blueberries. My favourite component here got to be the Blueberry lemon curd muffin, which comes with a crisp crumbly top, freshly baked and served warm, emanating a buttery fragrance and scent💙. Along with a soft, fluffy and sufficiently moist interior, the substantial fillings of fresh blueberries and lemon curd (swipe to view) added a tangy note, a well balanced flavour of sweet and sourness. On the other hand, the Small Batch Granola comprises of Greek yogurt, blueberry yogurt and house-blended granola which is made up of sunflower seeds, almonds, cashew nuts and dried cranberries. Mix them all up for the flavours, mouthfeel and visuals, where the granola helps to serve as a pleasant crunch factor to the tangy, creamy yogurt while the blueberries provided a purplish-blue hue, along with a tinge of fruity sweetness. Lastly, no set would be complete without a drink! The blue bell latte is served caffeine-free, comprising of butterfly pea flowers that added a natural hue of blue to the coconut milk. Not a fan of this as I still prefer my latte with fresh or soy milk instead! 🙈. Good news to the lactose-intolerant, this would be the one for you! 👍🏻 .
.
If Tiong Bahru is too far for you, fret not! This blue bell breakfast set would soon be launched subsequently in the next few weeks at other outlets as well! ✨ .
.
Thanks @tiongbahrubakery for keeping my Monday blues away with this tea set and @thefussyfoodie_ for extending the invite! 🙆🏻‍♀️💙 .

A signature item that has made its comeback as version 2 of @damien_tc x @bemyguestcafe ‘s popup on 22nd September, this is a unique and perhaps the 1st in Singapore rendition of a classic Eggs Benedict. Poached eggs nestled comfortably in a choux puff, along with candied bacon coupled with an intricate, meticulously plated cafe sides of of pomelo, pomegranate, salad with osmanthus dressing and tuille. A fine dining alike plated dish in a casual cafe setting, minus the typical exhorbitant price, why not? 😉 Poached eggs are always my greatest weaknesses, especially when it comes with a massive flow of vibrant yolk, and I m pleased to say that the ones here did the job! 👍🏻 The vibrant orange hues of the half cooked yolk was an aesthetically pleasing dish for the sight (and sense of course)! 👍🏻 The freshly baked choux puff came with an ideal crisp exterior, along with a soft and hollow interior. Though I still prefer my Eggs Benedict with English muffins or pancakes/waffles, this version isn’t too bad as well, if you have a sweet tooth as the choux puff tasted sweet in silo. The candied bacon were a great addition, coming with a sweet caramelised flavour coupled with a pleasant savoury smokiness from the tender bacon strips. The side salad that’s tossed with juicy pomelo and pomegranates comes with a fragrant and refreshing osmanthus dressing as well! ✨ .

[PS: This dish is only available exclusively on 22nd Sept, whipped up by @damien_tc for his pop up event at @bemyguestcafe ] .

The heap of roasted cauliflower was a major contributor that lowered the sinful indulgence, comprising of 70% of the entire dish. Mac & cheese pulled off with a tinge of spice that was tangy, lacking the characteristic creamy, cheesy factor that I would have adore. On the bright side, this might be useful in curbing the overwhelming gelat aftermath sensation. The roasted cauliflower came with slightly chargrilled floret, crunchy with a tough and rigid stalk that was a challenge breaking them apart with the knife provided. The unagi slices were well marinated but of course, don’t expect a quality like Man Man or so, given the pricing. Be careful of the little bones hidden within the soft flesh! Good news is that this brunch item is available all day - hence you can enjoy it anytime, any day 😌. .

LAST DAY OF OPERATIONS: 14th June 👋🏻😢. Managed to find my way into a hidden corner of Tanjong Pagar into this cafe that’s situated on the 11th storey of an old building. Waited almost an hour for this as the cafe was only open at 3.30pm but we arrived at ~2.45pm. Featured here, this fluffy egg sandwich is actually only available on the weekends but thanks to the kind folks at @ruleofthreecafe, they made it specially for us upon request! 💖 Slices of honey baked ham and cream cheese spread sandwiched between 2 toast, the highlight was the fluffy soufflé-alike baked egg that comes with a molten egg interior. Simply adore how the egg was baked to perfection, with flowy, vibrant yolks! ✨ The fluffy cloud surrounding it was foamy and meringue-like, with a tinge of sweetness that I personally find it incompatible to this dish. In addition, he toast would have been better if they were more crisp too! With a side of salad (and roasted sesame dressing ❤️), the creative and unique presentation of this weekend brunch item never failed to amaze my sight, though the flavours lacked any wow factor and was pretty mediocre after all . Nevertheless, the ambience here is a perfect spot to hang out and chill with your friends, especially since it opens till late night .

Only available for a limited period, this satay chicken burger bento is also served with a side of sweet potato tater tots and mesclun salad with honey miso dressing. A thick slab of boneless chicken fillet topped with satay rempah, wakame, sliced cheddar and a sunny side up sandwiched between two soft and fluffy sesame brioche. The chicken was tender, meaty and slightly succulent, with the rempah contributing to a flavourful, fragrant profile, coupled with a tinge of aromatic spice. Wished that the cheese was melted, instead of a thick hardened slice. Nevertheless, the other components were still a satisfaction to the palate, with the wakame providing a pleasant crunch and the sunny side up possessing a vibrant orangey yolk too 😍. Though a pity it didn’t turn out to be flowy as expected 😢. In addition, I am glad (and relieved) that the sweet potato tater tots this time round aren’t charred unlike my previous visit, with a crisp exterior and a pleasantly sweet interior of sweet potato mash. The mesclun salad provided a refreshing crunch and ending to the meal, coupled with a side of sweet honey miso dressing that’s certainly a great condiment that I even paired it with the tater tots and burger buns as well🙈. Hopefully this burger would remain in the permanent menu 🙏🏻 .

Breakfast For Dinner anyone? ✋🏻 Unfortunately, all good things comes to an end and with that, @ruleofthreecafe had ceased operations as of 14 June! 😢👋🏻 . Glad that I managed to head down before they are closed for good! Featured here is a plate of heart-shaped waffles filled with spam, served with potato cheese croquettes and mesclun salad with roasted sesame dressing. The waffles leaned towards the dense, cake-y side, without the crisp factor that I would have adore. Nevertheless, being a huge fan of luncheon meat, I could just easily spam them all by myself! Each piece waffle is chocked full of spam cubes and packed full of spices, resulting in a strong peppery flavour that lent a smoky, savoury note to the waffles. The peppery flavour might be a tad overwhelming for those with a low threshold for spice, but it was alright for me! 👌🏻 The potato cheese croquettes resembled more of hash brown instead, with a crisp exterior that serves an addictive sidekick to the meal! 💛 Also love the roasted sesame dressing that came with the salad, with its lingering roasted, nutty flavour being a pleasant enhancement to the crunchy raw greens .

For the weekday set lunches (11am-2pm), different dishes are featured each week. Featured here is a grilled chicken thigh with creamy truffle mushroom fillings, mash potato, garlic toast, salad and a mini soup of the day. The grilled chicken thigh is tender, succulent with a crisp char grilled surface layer. The fillings of mushrooms were creamy and juicy but unfortunately lacking a distinct truffle flavour and aroma which I was most looking forward to. Soup of the day was prawn bisque, which had a distinct characteristic umami and seafood-sque flavour that I wasn’t quite a fan of. The grilled chicken is also served with caramelised red wine sauce which is tangy and fret not, it won’t get you tipsy in the day as the alcoholic content is rather mild here and barely distinct! What I adore most in this dish was actually the homemade mash, which is chunky and embedded within diced potato cubes instead of a smooth, creamy one. It also came with some crunchy seasonal vegetables such as radish, long beans and carrots, adding a pleasant crisp factor. The slices of toast were crisp and biscuit-like, which makes a good complement to the soup. Ending off a tangy side salad that came with balsamic vinegar dressing, each weekday set lunch also comes with an iced cooler of your choice, for which I’ve gotten the iced lemongrass, which is pre sweetened and refreshing! ✨

And so... today marks the end of @artistrycafesg ‘s service and operations 👋🏻😭. Apart from the brunch, one thing I would miss most is this French Toast that surprisingly far exceeded my expectations, officially one of the best I have ever had (apart from @sarabethsofficial that I tried in Taiwan). Had initially wanted to try it last weekend, but it was already sold out by 12pm😭. Came back on a Friday afternoon (and reserved this just in case) which certainly did not disappoint, to which both my dining and I enjoyed it truly, polishing it off in no time, although she doesn’t even have a sweet tooth in the first place, unlike me. The brioche toast soaked in spiced custard was soft, fluffy with a pillowy texture that is filled with peanut butter and raspberry jam. A nutty, roasted flavour and aroma coupled with a subtle tartness from the fruity jam, it was clearly a winning combination that surprisingly didn’t turn out to be overwhelming or saccharine as expected! 💖 Served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream that was smooth, creamy with a fragrant milky flavour, the addition of the mixed berry coulis provided a tinge of acidity; a good counter balance to the other sweeter elements. Wouldn’t mind giving this a 2nd try... but unfortunately its extinction prohibited me from doing so 😭 .
