Beer
This new inhabitant on the buzzy Haji Lane (nearer to South Beach Road) dishes out a whole host of delicious suds on tap and in bottles — making it our new (and favourite) spot for celebrating TGIF. There are a couple of tables indoors, but we much prefer to have our pint alfresco on a cool breezy evening. Choose from eight beers on tap that are on rotation including ciders, wheat beers and stouts. If available, go for the local brewery Innocence Brewing's Unknown Wheat ($15) — the yet-to-be-named brew is our favourite! Otherwise, ask the friendly staff for recommendations. The unlikely pairing of your ang moh liang teh with dim sum may raise some eyebrows, but they go surprisingly well together. If you're coming in a small group, get the Dim Sum Platter ($15) to share, it comes with a pair of har gow, siew mai. chives and pork dumplings, beancurd sheet and pork rolls as well as bbq pork buns.
Avg Price: $20 per person

limited cocktail selection (i think they've 4 only?) but we were happy with our choices~~ i had the refreshing grinch (i can't rmb the name) which was tequila based with ginger and chubby had the girly pop or smth which taste like cosmo. Chubby's was too sweet for my liking and the alcohol isn't that potent but again, 1 for 1 i'm not complaining 🙃
At first glance, this may seem like a shady, hipster, overpriced beer spot, but venture inside and you'll realise that it is in fact a cosy, super chill brewpub that serves both excellent craft beers and tasty, solid mains. Get the night going with a pint of their home-brewed Small Monster ($7 half pint, $15 full pint) or opt for the Flying Monkeys Smashbomb IPA ($7 half pint, $15 full pint) from Canada. For mains, the Crispy Egg Aglio Olio ($16) comes highly recommended, but spice lovers should try the King Prawn Pasta ($22). It’s the kind of hellishly spicy dish that will have you breaking a sweat even in an air-conditioned room. Cool down with the Beehive ($12) — an eggette (similar to the ones found in Hong Kong) drizzled with agave nectar and lemon zest, served with homemade bourbon kaya dip, coconut gratin and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Pro tip: Plan your drinking sessions around their Happy Hour (2pm-6pm, 10pm-12am on Mon-Thur and 2pm-6pm, 9pm-12am on Sun) to enjoy pours at $5 for half pint and $10 for full pint.
Avg Price: $30 per person

Auckland's version of Belgium wheat beer. I must say its OZ-some!
Although Hopheads touts itself as a craft beer bar, their options are extremely limited with just four taps of craft beer, and the standard taps of Asahi and Kronenbourg Blanc.
Fortunately, the four taps that do squirt out craft beer boast some top quality brews, such as this pint of Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA, which is probably the most popular IPA around. With its heady aroma of grapefruit and lemon, a strong, bitter hit of citrus fruit alongside a mild hint of caramel, it's not hard to see why it's wildly popular.
Hopheads may call themselves a craft beer bar, but they're more of a social gathering joint that also pours craft beers. Seriously, they've got darts, pool, beer pong, ping pong, and even frickin' jenga! Now that's what I call a good night out!
It's happy hour time! Weekdays from 5-7pm just order a cocktail which comes with a complimentary slider, you can order up to 6 oyster at $2 each with every cocktail! Fresh and served with a wonderful vinaigrette
Passed by Tanuki Raw at Orchard yesterday, gave up with the long long q. Today! We made it to the branch at Bugis area. Thankful for the much more peaceful and enjoyable environment.
Happy hour! $2 per oyster and we had 8 in total by ordering two drinks. Had the fruity Kyoto Protocol ($14) and the sweet Sake Honey ($10).
Foie Gras Yakiniku ($23) still taste as superb and rich. Tried Negitoro Don ($18) today but I didn't quite like it thou.
Will definitely go back again for the oysters.
Makan and drinking session on a Thursday Night! We ordered Prawn Quesadilla, Mixed Grill (Chicken Chop, Lamb Chop, Pork Chop, Sausage), Bacon Cheese Fries and Fried Chicken Wings with Thai Sauce. Food was decent but not spectacular. The prawn, chicken and lamb were the nicest in my opinion. There is one for one alcohol from 4pm-8pm for selected drinks 😀😀 And best of all very good live music by Summer Breeze 🎤🎸🎹🎼 So still a great dining experience!
They are still my favorite through all my time here. Crispy, juicy, no sauce needed. Available at No5 and Ice Cold Beer at Emerald Hill.
