Day Time Hang Out
You will notice a variety of new-to-market players, so it will solve your various dining preference 🙃
Featuring Alchemist beer lab - the first beer infusion bar in Asia! They serve pretty awesome food as well 😉
Berries compote between simple banana bread, with mascarpone and freeze-dried raspberries.
Enjoyed the delish coffee custard which was fragrant and not cloying. Not the best banana bread around (wished there were more banana) but decent enough for a happy dessert with good coffee. Topped up $4 for a scoop of espresso-based ice cream that seemed to have a hint of earl grey(?!) which was an absolute delight.

// Lovely afternoon w the lovely people.

They've a tempting display of gorgeous bakes. A slice of it pairs very well with a cup of coffee.
They served great coffee but it was a pity that the cakes were a tad dry, otherwise all is good..

Tried 5 of the toast on the menu finally after wishlisting for a while.
Sourdough is hearty and good. I love the nut butter with honey, hummus and the sage cream cheese with berry compote. The egg salad and vegemite with cheese was also decent.
The moment I saw the strikingly beautiful sakura matcha latte art created by @damien_tc on @cliffton_jt's IG, I jumped in a cab and zipped over to Carol Mel Cafe.
It was fascinating to watch Damien "draw" the sakura. Clearly, an artistic eye and steady hands are a must. And as perfect as the deep green matcha was as a background for the cherry blossoms, its strong (yet not bitter) taste was equally pleasing.
3 munchies: Featuring freshly-cut and crushed cherry tomatoes encrusting a mound of finely shaved ice, this bowl of bingsu makes for a refreshing treat to share with friends. The stash of plum powder in the middle added a nice salty counterpoint to the natural sweetness of the cherry tomatoes and homemade sweetened milk sauce. If only shaved milk ice were used in this dessert – the milkier, the better!
This Shanghai cafe is a true instagrammers haven, especially with this cuppa Americano. Sweet little rain ($9.80) comes with a cloud of cotton candy, which slowly melts into your coffee thereby sweetening it. Pity my cloud of cotton candy wasn't the prettiest. The Americano though is brewed from pretty decent beans. In short - makes for lovely Instagram pictures, if you have the cash to spare. Lovely space to sit and watch the world go by.
As both a craft store and a cafe, it's a feast both for the eyes and the tastebuds.
No food is served here though, only coffee and cakes. Coffee was not bad too 🙌🏻
A gem of a cafe in the east, this rustic cafe in the Bedok North neighbourhood tops our list for a quiet afternoon with a friend, or for some alone time with a good book. True to its name, Percolate does its coffee really well (they use beans from Nylon roasters); the bonus is that their light bites are pretty tasty too! If you're up for something new, go for their Espresso Tonic ($5.50), which combines double shots of espresso with tonic water and lime for a fizzy, refreshing drink. Otherwise, play it safe with the well-balanced Iced White ($5.50). While you linger, order the moist Banana Date Loaf ($8.50) to nibble on — the velvety layers of almond butter and mascarpone are what elevate the cake to something truly extraordinary. The Burpple community also loves the Curry Egg Mayo Croissant ($8.50), which is a comforting marriage of buttery croissant with rich, curried egg mayo.
Avg Price: $15 per person

Channel your inner child and imagine yourself walking through a crumbly-crunchy cookie forest with lush molten matcha greenery and a full ice cream moon hanging up in the sky - how great would that be!
One for the fans of floral flavour pairings, the warm explosion of matcha and cool Secret Garden ice cream (made with 1872 Clipper’s Eternal Garden Tea) was a matcha made in heaven. Thick and gooey, Creamery Boutique’s Monster Matcha ($8.90) lava cookie held a trace of buttery fragrance and was also nicely balanced with a good dose of green tea aroma without being overwhelmingly sweet.
And with an impressive selection of carefully curated ice creams which they have on rotation, I especially adored the pick as the light floral notes from the rose infused pure ceylon black tea flavour intensified as well as brought out the earthy undertone of the rich filling. The other quirky options they have, like Piko Piko and Kid Cat are worth noting too!
Having not tried Kooks, I would certainly recommend Creamery Boutique for their well-received cookie sets.
A big thank you to Chin Wan from Creamery Boutique for hosting and @Kenpgl for extending the invite!
Cost $8.50, its not bad & it was served fresh but i dont think its worth the price. Too expensive & small!
When we decided to skip lunch and just act healthy. Went for the Signature Bowl ($9.50 for medium) and Nutlicious Crunch Bowl ($8.50 for medium) which is made of the same base, Acai with Guarana, apples, banana and 100% coconut water. Seem to melt faster and taste sweeter but probably due to coconut water used.
While Signature Bowl was filled with 12 different toppings, I prefer the Nutlicious Crunch Bowl more as there are sunflower seeds and macadamia nuts.
