Given that it was listed in Singapore's Michelin Bib Gourmand list, it's no wonder that the queue was between 1.5-2h long. However, the dish did not disappoint. The unagi was well cooked, crispy yet flavourful. 🙌🏻
There are 3 ways of eating this, first is straight from the bowl (with or without the sweet/spicy/unagi sauce), second is to scoop some unagi and rice into the small bowl and add some fresh wasabi, spring onions and seaweed. Lastly, you can add some broth and eat it like the Chinese porridge.
I would love to go back some day, if I didn't have to queue.

One of my top picks from the new brunch menu over at @paddyhills.sg has gotta be this hefty stack of goodness. Here, two voluminous hotcakes cushion slices of house-cured salmon, caramelised onions, roasted garlic butter, a cube of "affogato" ice cream, and my favourite bit – the slabs of thick-cut bacon that have a bite as meaty as sinking your teeth through eight conjoined strips of streaky bacon.

New dishes launched at Paddy Hills as you'll find Scallop Carpaccio, HEY Crab!, Squid Ink Aglio Olio and Lobster Risotto ($48). The last dish was definitely the crowd favourite. Recommend for sharing, the creamy tomato risotto is decorated with fresh lobster chunks, New Zealand mussels, Serrano ham and smoked haddock. Plus pickled lemon purée are used to enhance the dish!

Thought it was weird for this to show up only after we had our mains and dessert but guessed that the kitchen got stacked up with too much orders today. These were great and sides to compliment with alcohol; the crunchiness of the soft bones went well with the crisp Tempura batter and was fried to golden-brown perfection, flavoured with garlic salt and a little spiciness from paprika. Totally addictive when you dip it into the Kewpie-esque mayo on the side.

Ordered two bowls of Dons and I'm surprised that they are so so so filling! We couldn't finish what we had ordered.

Teriyaki Don: served with huge pieces of teriyaki chicken, with generous amount of teriyaki sauce. 👍
Gyuniku Donburi: beef is in very thin slices, but it's juicy and tasteful.👍
Mix that poached egg into the rice and there you have it!
Salted egg calamari rings: it's smells good but it gets too gelark after a few rings. They even serve additional Salted egg sauce!

I super love the ambience! But do make a reservation on peak days! Their lunch on a normal weekday was packed!

The lunch at the refinery blew me away. This fusion version of minced noodles using ramen and pulled pork is the bomb.
The ramen is tangy and Q, the pork is fork tender, there's loads of pork lard and its spicy as hell. -
Those who love BCM will know what I mean. Try it!

Cauliflower Fritters ($10)

The cauliflower fritters @therefinerysg are crazy addictive when dipped in their stinging wasabi mayo! The batter coating of the cauliflower is light and does not come across as greasy. Have a kickin' weekend!

Burger, truffle fries, salted egg sauce – what's not to love? The Refinery's burger satisfies the most ardent salted egg fan with an additional side of the sauce to dunk your fries or burger if you're still craving more. 👅💦💦

That chicken cutlet was massive too, shared between two of us, we were still pretty full after that! Only gripe would be that the veg and bun below got kinda soggy after a while. Still, loving the chill vibes here with the good but not overwhelming crowd.

My first visit to The Benjamins wasn't for their freakshakes but them Over The Top burgers. We got our food after some 10 math lessons because of overwhelming orders 😂 but the ambience, the nice waitress and great company made up for it. Here goes with the Zichar OTT Burger ($28). Pick off the yam ring and it reminds of teochew yam mooncakes without the flakiness in the crust. Mmm, I've been missing those sweet, soft baked yam pastriesss so this was a real treat! The tofu tater tots were soft and crunch but pair it with the ketchup and chilli sides because they're plain on their own. Pierce the loose pieces of sambal brinjal and that's tastier yet, cooked like a good Asian dish. This burger is so tall we couldn't manage so we ate the components separately — actually, just like at a zichar. The breaded pork patty was thick and tasted starkly milder while being a tad dry, making it quite meaty. It'd be great if it was tender but I think my hardcore carnivore friends would love it just as. The fusion of meat, sambal brinjal and BLT doesn't really work to enhance the flavours though. The buns felt redundant being too bland and dry. The lava on the top bun was somewhat lacking but I'm not sure if it was just the one because the other burger was oozing. I know it would really help if the buns themselves were tasty. Overall, it's not too bad as a savoury burger; it just doesn't come together as well as it could have. It's really filling though for the appetite of two girls, and this was what I thought in the middle of carving through this first burger, as it dawned on me they forgot the SEY popcorn that came with 😵
