For its coffee shop price tag, this item is really really really worth it. Firstly, the portion is bigger than the usual coffee shop western food portion. The chicken chop is cooked to perfection, smells really yummy when it was served. Fries are crispy and the salad comes with red wine sauce with hint of vinegar. This is really good value. More like cafe quality at coffee shop price.

This coffee shop (blk 517, directly opposite Rulang primary school) used to be really quiet until Bowen's started. Ever since then it enjoys brisk business every night. The small coffee shop is packed with patrons who live around the area. Worth a visit if you stay in the West. Only open in the evening, do take note it closes on Sunday nights.

I eat this shop afew times a year and I would say this travel to the west is worth it. The claypot rice with chicken, Chinese sausage and salted fish is not bad. The chicken is very soft and nice. $15 for medium.
On top of that, we ordered a chicken dish (ma you ji) which has really good sauce and chicken cooked to perfection. $8 for small
The pig liver dish which is cooked w ginger is the reason I keep coming back. It is cooked to the right amount which makes it not too hard for consumption. This is a must try for pig liver lover and worth a try for those who don't fancy pig liver. $8 for small.

Using thicker noodles to complement with the earthy and distinctive miso flavour, this is also accompanied with beansprouts, Porcini mushroom oil, watercress, pan-fried corn, signature char siu topped with a small scoop of hot sauce!

Juicy pork belly stuffed with all sorts of goodness (garlic, lemongrass, spring onions, chillies), slowly roasted over coals till the flavours infuse deep within the succulent meat and skin turns into a golden brown hue of glorious crackling. I could get high on this crack.
One of the few stalls making the trip to Timbre+ worthwhile.

Didn't really expect this to be so worth of its price point; sliced pork stir-fried in savoury sauce and caramalised onions topped with an onsen egg. The strips of pork were juicy and tender, sweet yet savoury and when the egg yolk is broken, adds a silky finish to the meat. For $12.90++, you would also get a bowl of Miso Soup and Caesar Salad at the side. Not the best and the most wow-ing Donburi out there, but certainly is not too shabby and rather value-for-money at an accessible location.

Who doesn't love crabs? The milky soup base is the bomb and it's comparable to melben's crab bee hoon soup too! 😍 Definitely an alternative when I'm craving for some good crab bee hoon with shorter waiting time 👍

There are two Ming Kee restaurant along the stretch, one is opened by the father, while the other is opened by the son. Here's a photo of Steamed Boston Lobster with Garlic. Read more: http://www.misstamchiak.com/ming-kee-live-seafood-fresh-and-good-seafood/

Always a good place for dinner and supper, the frog porridge gravy is good with the porridge.

A year ago, I made my very first visit to Sushiro when it was just a tiny shop space beside an aisle that is next to Kopitiam at Thomson Plaza — it was my first time ordering their Barachirashi Don which I was pretty blown away with the quality and quantity of fish which they totally just nailed it especially for the price.

A year had since past and Sushiro have moved into their new premises yesterday that is nearer to the entrance of the mall with an actual shop space. The menu and prices are still the same as before, and it now has a larger seating capacity than before with counter seats situated at the end of the restaurant which gives patrons a full view of the chefs preparing food in the kitchen. Got myself the Barachirashi Don which still pretty much was still as good as it was back then and even during my subsequent visits, which speaks for itself.

They are running a promotion today where Barachirashi and Glazed Duck bowls are sold at $10 nett; would totally be willing to pay full price for the bowl but who says no to a promotion anyway 😂? Still, it's really worth mentioning how far they have come since they had started!

[Two Michelin Star 🌟🌟 in Japan] The simplicity and light taste here is executed so well that it's like a homely and sincere meal even though no fanciful ingredients are used. When the water used are from Mount Fuji imported from Japan, you know they're serious in bringing their 2 Michelin star quality to Singapore.
🔸
There was three ways of eating this - first as it is; second with the Japanese condiments, then finally pour in the dashi and eat is as am dashichazuke.
🔸
The A5 omi wagyu beef is now beside the point, because the star is in the perfection of a simple dashi made using only 4 ingredients - kelp, tuna, bonito flakes and mount Fuji water. I asked for more servings and drank them as soup.

Ordered the mazesoba (mix noodles) with all toppings (SGD15.80++) which consists of soft boiled egg, char siew, braised pork and deep fried chicken (we add on a flavourful egg). Mix them up and you can add vinegar or chilli oil to the noodles too.
It feels like bak chor mee, Japanese style and was flavourful and appetizing. But it becomes too porky for me towards the end. Should have chosen the fried chicken one instead.
It also comes with a small cup of chicken broth to sip in-between, and I actually like this soup a lot because it helps to balance out the rich flavour of the noodles. And it's refillable too!
Definitely a place that we will be back again 👍

Always a good clean lunch option when you're in Orchard! Reviewed this many times and this remains good.
