El Cheapo Around Town
Located in one corner of Sim Lim Square's basement food court named Broadway. A healthy and hearty meal for noodle lovers like me!
The pork chop is lean and thinly sliced. The perfect size for easy consumption after mixing all the ingredients together - you won't need to cut it further👍
I also love how much fresh veggies are included in this meal (eat your fibres and ward off constipation lol). Providing that crunch together with the fragrance from the crushed peanuts. Drizzle on some of the sweet chilli sauce to add flavour and kick to the otherwise basic beehoon.
I looked so happy with my meal the old couple in the neighbouring table had to ask what I was having 😅
This is the best kept secret of Bugis Cube. Located on the 2nd floor.
Try the korean mushroom and fried meatball! But maybe not the dry beehoon option as the beehoon gets a little overcooked..
Come after 1pm to avoid the lunch crowd :)
Perfect for people with difficulty choosing. This stall sells one, and only one, dish - Fried and Fresh fish soup with rice. You've only got 2 options, big or small.
The soup is really flavourful, but I get a little thirsty after. The fresh fish is fresh lol, duh. But the fried fish is too salty. Do not forgo the chilli, the lime juice in it adds a twist to the spicy kick.
Located in the corner of the food centre, facing New World Centre. Opens everyday except Saturdays, 11.30pm - 3pm / till sold out.
Undoubtedly one if the best pho I've had in Singapore. Good sized portion with its tasty soup (that doesn't make you too thirsty after). It is a cute little store and the interior peppered with Vietnam street-esque designs. Definitely worth a visit!
Loved how much vinegar went into this simple yet perfect noodle meal (I like to 吃醋)!
I kid you not about the simplicity. There was nothing wow about this meal. Yet every aspect of it came together seamlessly like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle.
Worth the wait (45min ish), but it was definitely tempting to up the size with each passing minute haha~
Since everyone has been reviewing the dry version (with its aromatic sauce), I decided to give the soup version a try and contribute something different.
The soup is flavourful, leaning slightly towards the salty side due to the salted veggies. I was very impressed with the thick beehoon, that was al dente, and the beef! The beef was perfectly cooked, pink in the centre, without a sign of tendon.
The portion is just sufficient for a light lunch but I know I'd get hungry in the late afternoon lol. Guys with bigger appetites can consider getting the $10 Special Bowl (Premium).
