GUILTY PLEASURES

As a fan of houjicha, I knew I had to get my hands on this new flavor at Tsujiri Centrepoint! A pretty large serving for $5 though the flavor was not as intense as I'd like it to be — a subtle sweetness amidst the roast-y tea flavor which I foresee will be well loved by many. Still happy to know of a houjicha soft serve option around! (:

After the super satisfying meal at Man Man, I had to wind down from the ‘unagi high’ (if there was ever such a thing) with some sweet ice cream and thus round two was at Apiary.

An Insta-worthy space complete with elements of wood and clean white walls, Apiary has been on my to-visit list for some time. With a range of crowd-pleasing flavours, it did take us quite a while to decide and after trying a couple, we settled on two premiums - Pistachio and Despicable.

A safe option and the flavour that I always turn to, their Pistachio was smooth though a tad sweet and milky in taste while the latter was more playful with the textures. Mixing creamy banana ice cream with bits of crunchy walnuts and brownies, the combination was rich but not cloying. You can also pair them with a crisp cone by adding an extra dollar.

Surprisingly light and milky with a mild savoury saltiness from the miso. I liked that it wasn't too sweet. Topped with crunchy Tao Kae Noi seaweed. Not one of their top flavours to me, but rather interesting. $4.50 per scoop.

It was really creamy, smooth and thick. Not just that, the aroma and taste of green tea and earl grey mixed together was pure heaven.

Overall, I loved the mix of Earl grey & green tea!! Too bad it was only available till 15 Oct:( but thankful that I was able to catch it on the last 2 days 😂😂 (such a pig right?)
Felt that service could be improved though (more smiles please!)

Not sure if this is new but certainly hadn't tried this flavour so I have got myself a scoop to try. Perhaps one of the most aromatic Vanilla flavours I have ever had — the richness of the vanilla itself was simply alluring that it sealed the deal. The fibrous figs were actually pretty "civilized" here in the way that they never ever tried stealing the show away from the vanilla; it tries to add it a subtle hint of prune-like flavours here and there at areas with nibs of fig around.

The three cheeses played it as subtle and coy as an oft-love lettered Methodist Girls' School student, while elsewhere the sriracha bacon was more assertive, bringing its tingling, stickily chewy pork game to the yard. 3.6/5

The avocado has an acquired taste with a slight bitterness, rather interesting and pleasing for me. Where else, the wintermelon soft serve makes a refreshing treat. If you can't decide between them, go with the latter. 🍦#BrotherBirdSG

Chunky softserve topped with generous servings of oreo cookie and crumbs! The marshmallow fluff was torched and went well with the wafer cone. The softserve however didn't have a distinct taste; it tasted slightly like froyo, not too sweet-I guess this is to prevent a sugar rush as the other toppings provide sweetness. It is quite fun to dig in and have your ingredients spilling onto the paper plate😂 Nice place to chill out with friends and family as it isn't too crowded as well.

It might sound like alot of flavours, but they all went well together. First off, if this is your first visit to Brownice, definitely go for the coconut! There’s real coconut fruit embedded in the ice cream! It is slightly creamy, with authentic coconut taste and sweetness. It goes really well with the chocolate syrup topping.

Smooth, not too sweet and fresh. Really love the smell and texture of the bun. Will come back for more buns ❤️

If only a waffle can come with five scoops of ice cream, I wouldn't have a problem choosing the flavours 😹 ! And the charcoal waffles is served alongside some salted egg sauce. Marring sweet and savory together, the graininess of the salted egg coats over the tongue, followed by the smooth texture of the ice cream, it is matchmake in heaven.
