A cross btw your traditional wan ton mee and Japanese ramen. They really take pride in their presentation so expect a longer waiting time amidst the already long queue. The noodles were springy like hk style noodles and it is seasoned in their special sauce consisting of lemongrass, garlic and oil. Their homemade Sambal Blachan though not so spicy was a good contribution to the entire umami experience. Of coz it was the half cooked egg that got me salivating. Instead of char Siew, you get a substitute of Japanese pork belly that is marinated n cooked for 36 hours in a water bath resulting in a very tender pork that melts in your mouth. Only thing I didn't really like was the fried prawn curled thing which didn't really go and was so oily. Other than that price was reasonable at $5.90 for a small bowl.

That Dory Fish (SGD5) has a succulent slice of dory fish with tartar sauce, zucchini, red pepper and cheese. I added on bacon (SGD0.50) and fairy fries (SGD1) as sides. I love it becomes the fish was slightly charred and yet juicy!
His was the classic beef (SGD5) which has a beef patty, cheese, homemade tomato sauce, pickles and lettuces. It's yummy too!

Mee Tai Mak with Century Egg ($9.80)

Exceedingly excited seeing one of my favourite ingredients Century Egg 😍 on the menu of newly open @nownoodles . Mee Tai Mak arrived smelling simply heavenly. The rempah used is housemade and was at just the level of spiciness I like for the kick! Overall, flavour was really good. Will definitely also want to try their dry laksa next😋!

Baked moist salmon fillet, a garden of arugula, guacamole & onions topped w HB teriyaki sauce sandwiched between wholemeal slices. 🐟🍃 The teriyaki sauce & guac comes together perfectly to compliment the salmon fillet. With the sweetness of the fish, savoriness of the teriyaki sauce & creaminess of the guac, it's a perfectly well-balanced & delicious sarnie. A great CBD lunch option! 👍🏻👅💦 #yummos

Which is what your boss may tell you, or when you are catching a bus.
Fasta is a fast food takeaway pasta concept, serving up unique flavors at affordable price.

The Signature items: Scallop wallop, Shio Ba Mee, Chickinaki and Smokey Quacky Ducky.
To see if they are really FAST, I set a stop watch for both times (ordered 2 pastas, I was the only customer).... About 9 mins for the pasta to reach.
Ok lah, at least not Man Man.

For $11.50, you get two huge scoops of tiramisu and chocolate ice cream which were both very creamy and smooth. It wasn't overly sweet. The waffles were crispy and fluffy on the inside! A new and quiet chill out spot in serangoon!

Queuing for a good half hour and perhaps slightly more, I am a bit torn over the value of this bowl of traditional noodles cooked in an innovative way. Named in Michelin Guide’s Bib Gourmand list, the Singapore-style Ramen is definitely uncommon with the elements of both Japanese Ramen and traditional Wanton Mee.

Having my first taste of A Noodle Story’s signature item, I was quite impressed by their presentation and you too, will notice the attention to details as the two manning the stall assemble each bowl painstakingly. At $5.90, the portion comes with al dente HK-style wanton noodles, crunchy potato prawn fritter, plump wantons, tender char-siew and half a molten egg. Served dry, the pork belly did lacked a little oomph. But by opting out on their special blend of sambal chilli, I was able to enjoy the nice umami flavour as the thin and springy noodles was lightly tossed in a savoury sauce filled with fragrant notes of dried shrimps. The textures of the other components also work well together.

In all, the bowl was worth a try. Though not life-changing, it was pretty decent in both taste and price.

This no-frills restaurant next to Merely Ice Cream serves pocket-friendly Thai food, making it a hit amongst the students in the vicinity. Come with friends and order the Basil Pork Rice ($6), topped with a sunny side up egg, and a Tom Yum Goong ($10) to share. If it's available, have the Mango Sticky Rice ($5) before washing it all down with a cup of Thai Milk Tea ($1.50).

Affordable lunch sets are hard to come by, even more so in the CBD. Thankfully, there's always Katanashi's Lunch Set ($12) to fall back on — this Boat Quay joint is just a short stroll from Raffles Place MRT Station. There are 10 rice bowls to choose from, and each comes with a side salad and miso soup. Go for the Unatama Don, grilled eel coated in a sweet soy sauce glaze, or the Chicken Teritama Don, deep-fried chicken drizzled with teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise, served with an onsen egg.

After reading about this cheap yet affordable food option on Burpple, I've been wanting to try it. A few weeks back on a Monday, my friend and I headed there wanting to try it out! To our disappointment, it was closed!!! 😫 I asked around and found out that they are closed on Mondays! So people, don't go on a Monday!

Today (Friday), I went again with high hopes and yay it was open! I ordered one set of Xiao Long Bao (10 pieces at $5.50) , one set of Spicy Sichuan Wanton (10 pieces for $4) and one bowl of Zha Jiang Mian ($3.50). Cheap!!!!

I went with very high expectations for the Xiao Long Bao especially after reading the good reviews. However, my friend and I weren't impressed with the XLB though. The soup juice inside wasn't hot and didn't taste flavorful. This pales in comparison to DTF's XLB. I shouldn't be so picky about it because the price of their XLB is so much cheaper than DTF's.

If you ever make a trip there, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Zha Jiang Mian and Spicy Sichuan Wanton. If you like your spicy Sichuan wanton to be more on the spicer side, do let the stall owner know because mine had more vinegar in it! Zha Jiang Mian was just good, no other comments! 😊

Overall, I would definitely return to have more delicious yet affordable Chinese food! I need to try the sweet and spicy noodles and Guo Tie the next time round! My friend was having a sore throat today, so we didn't order Guo Tie. 😕

($6.40) However, I failed and ended up still pointing lamely at the menu.

Was kinda intimated by the large weekend crowd there but I'm glad I braved it all and was rewarded with the best Thosai/Dosa (tasted even better today, ordering it myself 😌)!! Definite big love for that crisp yet moist exterior, good with or without the sauces. Stuffed with that perfect addictive masala potatoes. This was so good, my non-Indian food lover friend, adore it too!! Thosai Mama @iamjaynedoe will be so proud 😂 We'll be back for moarrrrr ✌🏻️ #BurppleBestIndian
