Wanted to try Chay Sua but they will open be back after 28 April ๐Ÿ˜ข. But this is not bad, taste like 26 carrot diamond ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜. Waited 20 minutes but no need to queue, auntie wrote down my table number and then brought the plate to me.

Good food need to wait, but not necessarily need to queue for it.

Before the sun is up, the father will knead the dough and the mom prepared the curry. Sometimes during school holiday and weekend, the daughter help to collect orders. .

Thanks to the highly recommendation by many social media, their business was picking up. .

Tear out the multiples layers and dip it into the curry. Simple and tasty. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ .

Very generous portion of Char Siew and the sauce isn't that sweet. The Siew Mai is huge and really really satisfying:P #preworkout #snack #carbs #dimsum

If you choose to have the salad buffet alone, which includes pastas, soups, fruits and ice cream, it is $17.90.
However, they managed to butcher all our ribeyes. I really hate places that can't get their steaks right. Whether we ordered medium or medium rare, they all arrived well done, and still on a hot plate, so they ended up over cooked. ๐Ÿ˜ฃ

Recently moved to Toa Payoh Blk 75 (Supper Hawker). Smaller stall, lesser manpower and smaller menu but their operation hours were more convenient. .
|
Golden fried egg yolk broke into the steamy white rice with the aromatic basil pork. Spicy and appetizing sourness while the big prawn released its sweetness to the soup. .
|
Because they just moved to their new stall, quality control and the "feel" of the kitchen still need some time getting use to (**Beware of the MSG used). But if you are looking late night cheap Thai food, this place is not a bad choice. .

Loved how they only use drumsticks for this dish! Chicken is tossed in vey well seasoned flavorful sauce.

Next door to the famous Char Siew rice along 'Food Alley', the duck rice is deemed to be really good as well and I would attest to it. The herb rice was nice, with a nice balance between the herb flavour and saltiness. The duck had a nice and crumbly texture to it even though it was slightly dry; with the little slices of fat adding some wetness to the combination. The brown sauce also complemented well with the entire dish, from the rice to the duck.

Tau Gua and Liver ($2)
The additional tau gua was smooth, while the liver on the other hand was slightly hard on the outside, contrary to the thick and compact texture I was looking for in liver.

Heartiness (portion): 4/5
Tastiness (product): 4/5
Worthiness (price): 4/5

Prawn dumplings, pan fried carrot cake, egg white spring roll, pig liver rice roll. #burpple

Meaty and fresh, 1kg of Sri Lankan crab here costs SGD $48, a reasonable price despite the festive period.

The chili sauce is eggy and savoury sweet, probably a tad too much tomato ketchup, but is still decent. Chili heat is mild though.

Black pepper chicken with baked potato and mac & cheese. Topping it off is a bottle of IBC root beer.

This is a gem - Chef Lam Kun and his old school tim sum! Affectionately known as ๆ นๅ”, he was the head chef of a prominent restaurant before starting this humble stall. His passion drives him to insist on traditional but tedious way of cooking (eg, frying raw rice for >1hr till it's cooked as glutinous rice)
๐Ÿ”ธ
Yam cake should be i) soft, ii) moist, yet iii) flavourful, and this hits all three. The winning consistency was dense, but mushy and light. Gen Shu has many other gems not featured here - glutinous rice, dumplings, siew mai, and the thick but translucent congee.. I love that congee too, on my!
