Come hungry for a bowl of tasty and hearty Lor Mee ($3.50) that Tastemaker Amanda Liu loves. It's hard to miss this third-floor stall in Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre — you need only look for the queue. While some lor mee gravies tend to be too starchy, the sauce here is thick without being overly gloopy, and is so full of flavour! The dish comes with heaps of toppings including the much raved about deep-fried ngoh hiang meat balls, along with a spoonful of vinegar, garlic and chilli padi — bring your appetite, but probably not a new love interest! Mix well before slurping up all that slippery goodness. The stall closes at 3pm, so visit for breakfast or lunch. Pro tip: Tastemaker Acamas Teo spotted another outlet of Feng Zhen Lor Mee at the S11 Foodcourt opposite Yew Tee MRT Station. This stall opens only until noon, or till stocks last.

On days when you're craving some meaty comfort, head to this stall in Taman Jurong Market & Food Centre for roast duck, roast pork and char siew, all of which will certainly hit the spot. Prices start from $3, but we recommend that you get a combination of all three meats ($5) instead. The roast duck is fragrantly spiced and succulent to the bite, with a slight smokiness to taste. The roast pork is chunky, and has a balanced ratio of meat and fat. Tastemaker ni eats loves how the char siew sports a lovely char around the edges as well as how they are melt-in-the-mouth tender. Try her tip to create the perfect chilli sauce — to balance out the spiciness of the nutty sambal chilli, add chicken rice chilli for sweetness! This DIY sauce goes really well the duck. Don't be shy to ask for more of the deeply-flavoured braised sauce — it pulls everything together into one meaty, sensational plate. Pro tip: The roasted meat sells out by 12:30pm, so make sure you come early for lunch!

For the sleepy office crowd, your perfect pick-me-up would be this cup of coffee ($1.10) from The 1950s Coffee. Hailing a long queue during lunch, everyone went for the coffee, which was thick and aromatic with no sour aftertaste. We were buzzing with caffeine after our afternoon tea 😛

This Bryani from Bismillah was awarded Bib Gourmand twice in a row and it's no wonder. The rice is super aromatic , despite being cooked without the use of ghee!! I loved how the rice was dry but not too hard and went perfectly with the yogurt on the side. Even after throwing spoonfuls of yogurt in, we found ourselves breathing fire - testament to the amount of spice used in this ordinary looking dish.

Spacious, nice ambience and fully air-conditioned, this is the place that you wanna be in, away from the scorching heat outside. Besides their popular Mr Owl Iced Latte (RM 12), a drink that comes with owl-shaped espresso ice cubes and a bottle of milk, get also their sweet treats for a relaxing afternoon.

Reasonably tender chicken featuring fried Thai garlic. Dip it into the sweet spicy Thai sauce for an extra oomph!

When Nara Thai first opened two years back, we admit, we weren't all that impressed. Perhaps the kitchen wasn't yet ready for the influx of diners, but on the separate occasions that we dined there, the food was either overwhelmingly salty or sour. Thankfully, its newly launched menu (there's a total of 15 new items), left us impressed.

Incredibly tasty is the Thai garlic chicken ($10.90) that oozes an addictively fragrant, garlicky sweetness. The grilled pork neck ($13.90) is a spin-off what would commonly be a pork belly dish, served with a tamarind dip that does wonders to enhance its unctuous meat. The simplest dish of the lot, the cha om omelet ($12.90) is a traditional Thai dish seen at the home-cooked family meals. Here, the dish is executed with finesse, and we find ourselves polishing it off all too quickly.

The new menu has won us over—definitely one of our new favorite Thai restaurants in town.

Having mango at the end of any meal is refreshing! I wasn't too keen on the basil sauce though and still prefer Mango with sticky rice, but that's my personal preference.

Tall glass of fragrant brew, milky the way I like it, though I could do with less sweet. Taking heart in the fact that their teas are pre-chilled, so there's no need for lots of ice; no dilution!

Fried bread with minced pork. Something I've never tried before, looks very much like "tau pok" but tastes of savoury French Toast! Extra tasty with the sweet and spicy dipping sauce on the side.

• Green Chicken Curry / Kaeng Kiew Wan Gai ($13.90) - marvellous aromatic mixture of mini Thai eggplants, chicken chunks, sweet basil leaves & red chilies forming a mildly spiced beauty with milky consistency
• Pad Thai w/ Chicken ($14.90) - light & well-balanced texture when combined with accompanied beansprouts & chopped peanuts (even better when you request for additional Chili powder to mix)
• Pomelo Salad / Yum Som O ($13.90) - sweet pomelo alongside crunchy cashew nuts & fried shallots. Its refreshing pulp & popping texture goes especially well with the other typical Thai flavours on the table. Those who can't stand spiciness from Thai dishes, this is a great life saviour.
• Deep-Fried Shrimp Cakes / Tord Mun Kung ($13.90) - round of applause to the Chef here for letting us savour one of the lightest yet bounciest shrimp cakes, super well-done indeed, & my personal favourite 💕
• Blue Rice / Kao An Chan ($2) - the beauty of nature presents to us a special rice with deep blue hue, extracted from fried butterfly pea flowers. While it's not supposed to taste any different, it's pretty known for beauty & health benefits.

Thanks for having me (again 😂)! Nice knowing Peach too! Can't wait for the global potluck event! 🍽
