Most Burpplers would have been acquainted with the famous golden diamond-shaped egg tarts from Tong Heng. Silky smooth and melt-in-your-mouth egg custard baked in a strong, flaky crust, making the egg tarts a winner from all around. If you have a chance, do try their other confectioneries, especially the char siew pastry. Expect a handful of sliced char siew, sweetened to taste, enclosed in their signature flaky pastry crust. Yum yum.
😋 This morning's little field trip was to bring a group of students from Taiwan to Tiong Bahru because their project is about food in Singapore! Hahaha, we gave them a taste of both local food at the hawker centre and desserts at the cafés just next door~ Talk about gentrification man, the old vs new contrast can never be more stark! Anyway it was fun bringing them around, hope they enjoyed themselves as much as I did! 😁

The original ones themselves are a real treat, though the grass jelly and egg white ones are pretty yummy picks as well!
〖Cassis Mont Blanc S$8.50〗this pretty piece of dessert features a blackcurrant and chestnut filling encased in French chestnut puree, on top of a blackcurrant base. 〖Citron Blanc S$8.50〗in the background. Which is very refreshing!
Dark Chocolate Mousse, Chocolate Meringue and Chocolate Hazelnut Praline Crunch encased in a high gloss dome. Good texture -- the mousse was very smooth and light accompanied with a little crunch, good mix of rich dark chocolate and sweet meringue. Definitely hit all the right notes of a g spot for chocolate enthusiasts like me.

These exquisitely hand painted bon bons by Janice Wong are one of the most unique flavors we come across—think earthy white truffle, lemon and thyme etc. I absolutely love the combination of lemon and thyme!
Presenting the collection of different flavored Mochi (SGD $3 each, SGD $8 for 3) - Very exquisite and beautiful Mochi that were just too pretty to eat. The mochi skin was so soft and delicate with great flavor of fillings in it. Definitely one of the best mochi in Singapore!
