Cafes & Coffee
There’s just something about Singapore Coffee. Nestled within Singapore's Grand Old Dame, Raffles Hotel, this coffee shop offers a setting, a particular aura that’s inviting and cozy. The eye-catching design aesthetic, the buzzing of the espresso machine, the perfectly calibrated coffee grinder going round and round, and the aromas that fill the air. Did I mention the Kopi Shake is absolutely yum?

Thought I could use some quiet moments before the day's hustle and bustle at this beautiful Belgian-inspired bistro nestled within House of AnLi furniture shop in Tanglin Mall. But alas, the outlet itself was buzzing, and somewhat crowded.
Snagged a table by the window and was treated with a view of greenery overlooking Nassim Hill. The panoramic view was a tough competitor for attention, but the food held its own.
The smoked eel brunch plate with avocado, grilled asparagus and caviar served on sourdough toast, I had, was simple and light. Wished I had a second slice of toast to mop up the rich, yolky remainder.
Call it ambience, feel or vibe, this cafe with its lustrous monochromatic scheme of black and white is what I needed to perk up my breakfast meeting and get the brain working in the morning. Sometimes, it's really not about the food and coffee anymore.
