Chef Drew does beef tongue oh-so-right you'll want to lap up every bit of it. He grills it to tender perfection and plates it with parsley oil and celeriac for accompaniment.
Love the favors of Soon Hock fried before braising with roast pork belly, mushroom and tofu.
Part of the Asian Banquet for two, this isn’t really pork belly… or it’s extremely lean pork belly. But it’s meaty and flavourful nonetheless.

Abandoned my usual order of “Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio” to try this as it had been recommended by my fellow Tastemaker Irene Arieputri.
Besides being impressed by the generous amount of beef chunks immersed alongside rice noodles, crunchy beansprouts, sliced onions and fresh basil, I also rather liked the unique sweetish-sour soup of this dish.
As usual, I couldn't get enough of the chilli paste at Mrs. Pho. Hence, I pretty much emptied a little pot of it 😆
Not so much of a Kueh place but more of a Peranakan restaurant, but IVINS do sell a small selection of Peranakan Kueh at the counter in the Heartland Mall branch. Their Kueh Salat is actually pretty good too; a wee bit sweeter than say, Peranakan Khek or Chalk Farm's rendition, but the Pandan flavour is definitely pretty evident and aromatic here. The glutinous rice is tightly packed here without being too stiff — there is ample contrast between the Pandan mousse layer and the glutinous rice layer. Quite decent and a good grab at just $0.70 a piece!
Nonetheless, I didn't enjoy this at all as the flavours were playing a single flat tone. Was definitely not wow-ed.

Some might be stunned to pay $6 for just a small portion of chicken liver. However compared to the one in the market, it had no trace of gamy taste and totally infused with the soy sauce. My guess was that they dashed a little Mirin to give it a hint of sweetness.
Look at that mountain of sweet leek!! The fish was smoked perfectly, leaving an incredible softness and burst of flavour, which had us all picking at the bones. I barely noticed the charred onion miso sauce pooled at the bottom though.
Tasty
For an even authentic experience of 红油抄手, get some of that coarsely blended chilli paste and have them together with the dumplings. Priced at $4 for 10 pieces, it's absolutely a mad steal and you can certainly be seen chomping down these pockets of goodness in a go.
