Expect an intimate yet casual meal at this 17-seater counter that's made the list of The World's 50 Best Restaurants (not to mention the top spot on Burpple’s Hot 100 in 2015), and watch as the chefs work with the massive dual cavity oven and elevation grills. The Burnt Ends Sanger ($20) reigns supreme, with smoky, juicy pork shoulder that's been cooked for 10 hours, topped with red cabbage slaw tossed in chipotle aioli, nestled between two fluffy, buttery brioche buns. Be sure to share this as you'll want to save space for other dishes. Another signature mainstay on the menu (it changes daily) is the Quail Eggs and Caviar ($15), it is simple yet complex. Steak-lovers, go straight for the Onglet ($26/100g) — a charcoal-grilled hanger steak charred to perfection and packs a punch of flavour with the accompanying burnt onions and bone marrow. Have as many desserts as your stomach can handle, but don't miss the perfectly balanced Pineapple, Rum and Vanilla featuring roasted pineapple, pistachios, French meringue, Tahitian vanilla ice cream, and dark rum glaze. For so much quality, the prices are certainly not steep here.
Can't stop sweating (and swearing). I think I need to sleep in the fridge soon... 😔
By the folks behind Drury Lane comes Merriment, a spacious, air-conditioned cafeteria that dishes out rice bowls, pastas and salads at affordable prices. Located on the second floor of JTC Summit, Merriment seats around 150 people, and is an ideal go-to place for corporate lunch meetings. Opt for the Grilled Chicken with Basil Pesto Linguine ($10), a hearty portion of pasta and grilled chicken, or have the crowd-pleasing Braised Pork Belly ($6.50), which comes with house pickled vegetables and a wobbly sous vide egg. Wash it all down with a Flat White ($3.50), made using the same beans from Drury Lane. Pro tip: Flash your JTC staff pass to get 15 percent discount off your total bill!
Avg price: $10 per person

Cold wet and aimless, we decided to sit down and have a long early dinner. For the price of $45++, this place is not stingy on the quality and portion. I swear those meat gave us a huge scare, but at a table of four we successfully conquered the plates. Didn't took a picture of the tiger prawns which are the freshest and biggest I have ever seen on a buffet menu. SO WORTH EVERY PENNY. Please take note, the chicken soup base is a waste of time. Do take their tonkotsu soup base which is definitely full in flavor.
But here's the best combination, mini beef sliders $16.80 🍔 and lemon lime Kirin frozen beer! It's never too early for 🍻 • Blessed weekend!
This was a hosted meal.
At Haru Haru AMK Jubilee.
Haru Haru’s menu is extensive (the big book kind where you have to keep flipping), featuring a wide range of otsumami (appetizers), sashimi, sushi, sushi rolls, salad, agemono, yakimono, donburi, noodles, desserts and sake.
The type of restaurant that would have something to appeal to each person in the family.

Hope your day is as bright and delicious as this egg yolk on egg, with egg on top, and egg on the side… 😁

If you haven't tried out Misato, it's a very small, cosy shop in The Cathay with very affordable Japanese food that delights the tastebuds and is very instagrammable! The food takes some time to prepare, but is worth the wait. Thanks to @celest.lim who had cravings after seeing this on @burpple. 😄

Throwback to a very rustic lunch at Rose Bakery on Rue des Martyrs in Paris, where I really enjoyed the Bacon & Pumpkin Quiche. The filling was soft, creamy and slightly eggy, studded with generous slices of bacon whose welcome savouriness permeated every mouthful in blissful harmony with the sweet chunks of pumpkin on top. The crust could have been more buttery, but it was thankfully crisp and lightly flaky.
