Date Night
Had high expectations of this place but turns out food was average. Cod itself was good but the orange sauce messed up the dish, quality of angus ribeye was also just so-so. 6pm plus on a Saturday and we were the only diners. Won't return again.
The Black Swan has just launched a new menu and the visit yesterday surprised me both in service and food. The service staff seems more approachable than before. The pan seared barramundi was with a lovely lemon butter sauce, and i must say this is probably the best version of their barramundi dish so far. Great place to dine with your other half, or to have a crazy girls' night out
I wouldn't say the dishes are excellent but it's a good place to be away from the town, decent dishes, generous servings at reasonable prices. My seabass ($27) was a huge slab and i enjoyed especially the skin as it was well seasoned. Can't comment on my partner's Minute steak frites ($27, 150g) but he did wipe the entire plate clean. Flourless chocolate cake with vanilla icecream ($14). Honestly this was a tad too dry, it was nowhere near cedele's version. But the huge scoop of icecream saved the day to "moisten" the cake.
I❤️this place, and am glad that it's standard is back to how it used to be. There was a period of its reopening that i felt the food kinda lost its quality. Am glad i went back again yesterday and i'll be back! It was empty yesterday though when i was there from 6-7pm 😳
N so we finally tried Opus after reading lotsa 👍🏼 reviews. Didn't felt as impressed as i thought it would, chocolate dome was meh. Bedrock, Morton's and Fat Cow remains unbeatable!
1st visit here and overall it was good. except for the prawns which was deep fried with the shells on, and the creamed spinach w the tenderloin that was abit too heavily creamed. Cod was nicely baked with a hint of miso, the seaweed & clams rice that was served with it tasted like seafood porridge! It's interesting to have a lava cake with a peanut butter and chocolate centre, sweetness well balanced with a tinge of saltiness. Service was prompt too.
Ambience, service, quality of food, thumbs up to all. Often the cod served in restaurants lack the creamy cod taste, but garibaldi's did not disappoint me. Lava cake was a tad overcooked though. Will be back!
Wakame and romaine lettuce with hamachi sashimi, with miso dressing. Definitely preps your tastebuds for the mains.

This place used to be called boathouse, and i used to love the seabass dish because of the generous serving of the mushroom essence. Ever since they underwent renovation and I am guessing a change of mgmt, the seabass dish is not as delish as before. Seabass was slightly overcooked and definitely not as generous with the mushroom essence. We were there from 6-7pm on a Saturday and we were the only guests!
Lovely. Served with cauliflower puree, soy emulsion and tempura edamame.
Tenderloin, tempura avocado, aubergine serve with matcha salt and red spicy miso. Tempura batter with light and crispy, tenderloin done just right and the salt really accentuates the meat.
