chinese food!
Rainy weather calls for comfort food. Fortune Chalice, 极品海参鲍⻥鱼花菇捞饭 ($38) - premium sea cucumber, abalone and mushroom with their alluring broth.
Don’t underestimate this simple looking bowl, because the freshness of the ingredients was even complemented by small chunk of rice! Rice with thick broth is always my comfort food, but with all my favourite ingredients.. It totally elevated the whole tasting sensation.
The sea cucumber was soft and QQ, and it was well marinated with the broth. I felt like a royal princess immediately after the first mouthful of the goodness 😂

They will even pour the water to create the dry ice effect!
Each prawn was wrapped with a thin slice of marbled beef, and both textures complemented well after soaking in their superior soup!
Just so you know, they do not use any processed food, preservatives or chemical additives, thus explaining the fresh harvest of their ingredients.

A night of fun with beer and white wine with the great company!
Recently launched with a brand new menu, meat lovers like me will enjoy the Deep Fried Pork with Fermented Bean Paste ($15). Leaning towards the fatty side, the deep-fried garlic that was served as a garnish enlivened the succulent pork belly, and it was finished with the aromatic Hua Tiao Chiew rice wine!
Thanks Guan Kitchen for the hosted meal and my cute @rachaelwong for extending to me.

The thick and flavourful broth was sourish with a light hint of spiciness, similar to Sze Chuan Vegetable Soup, which made it a perfect dish to expand your appetite.
Ahh, such comfort food.

What's for lunch today?
Had a homely feel last night at @attaphousesg, our homegrown brand to bring nostalgia with local favourites and old school Nonya cuisine of the 70s and 80s. My favourite of all was their signature Satay Bee Hoon ($6.80) - homemade Satay sauce made with crushed cashew nuts and peanuts!
Immersed in the thick and gooey sauce, the bee hoon was well complemented with fresh kang kong, cuttlefish, cockles, pork slices, pork liver, tau pok and prawns! The aroma of the sauce was the highlight, and if you are not a bee hoon fan, you can also opt for a potato version with satay sauce at $1 cheaper!
Thank you @theinfluencernetwork for the hosted meal!
Breakfast, lunch and dinner items are available together with their traditional kopi (coffee) and desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Featuring their Cashew Fried Rice with Fresh Chicken Breast ($6.50) - sprinkled with a dash of black pepper to add the spice to the overall flavour.
The scrumptious chicken chunks were well marinated and juicy, which complemented with the aromatic and light fried rice cooked to the right consistency!

Usually a wait of > 30 minutes, I can easily finish the platter all by myself 😂
Joy of comfort food!
pls recover cos I need to eat and eat and eat. Featuring this handmade soon kueh with springy skin and super fresh ingredients!
Till then!
Craving for this Heng Hwa or Putien Lor Mee ($4) - spotted at a hawker centre!
Generously accented with a huge bowl of noodles (nowhere I can finish on my own), 1 big prawn, LaLa, yam, pork belly, egg and tao pok!
The soup was so thick and immensely sweet from the sweetness of the seafood and pork. Every mouthful of the Lor Mee was braised yet slightly springy, and accompanied with the rich amount of ingredients!
The key word is 'see', cos I can't finish the food most of the time 😂
This is one of the consistently good dim sum place in town, with flowing liu sha bao and crispy XO fried carrot cake being my favourite dishes over there.
Have a good weekend!
Thoroughly enjoyed the rich and aromatic stock and every mouthful was well-drenched. 3 different types of noodles were fried evenly and complemented each other!
And yes, I am a fan of the wet version.
