To Try
Brace yourself for a really long description. Duck Charcutiere Assembly - Wood-smoked ballotine, porcini mushroom, sauce Cumberland, chilled duck liver terrine with dry fruit and nut salad, macerated grapes, sautéed foie gras with roasted beet salad and lardons, hot duck tea. And yes everything present on this plate.
We chose 2 "starters" and 2 "mains". Truffle Fries, Scrambled Eggs, Eggs Royale & Beer Battered Fish Fillet. So that's a "Set D". It's an interesting concept; and total we paid $22/- for this set. Pretty affordable and it fed 2 people well. Worth another visit! :)
It's interesting to be eating a flower pot with crushed Oreo as the 'mud' and cream cheese as the soil. And the Nutella seemed to be the water soil. It was an alternating layer of cream cheese, Nutella and Oreo bits, with the base ending with the crushed Oreo. Not too bad. Basically it's Oreo cheesecake. Goes for $5.50 each
When I ordered 'Chicken Thigh' I expected something different.
Anyway, this is from Chef Mervyn Phan's GRUB, a new restaurant in the middle of Bishan Park. Review: http://danielfooddiary.com/2013/05/06/grub/
This pizza bar offers mini pizzas with toppings inspired flavours and dishes from various countries – my favourite is the Norwegian one with smoked salmon, cheese and dill. Some are a little pricey for the rather inexpensive ingredients used, but the homemade pizza crust is consistently cracker-thin and crispy.
