Coffee Tea
Been a regular of Narrative for a few months now ever since Tong joined forces with the original couple behind Dancing Goat and I was contemplating whether to review or not because I didnāt want this place to get more crowded than it already is. But I do want them to succeed so hereās my review!
I always order the dirty matcha with soy milk (not on the menu) and I love it unsweetened. The contrast between the bitter matcha, and distinct well-bodied espresso roast, is rounded off and goes great with soy milk.
After much feedback, theyāve also started to become more adventurous with their baked items and this was the first weekend they baked the sticky date pudding. I taste tested it the day before, and fortunately they decided to warm up the butterscotch sauce to drizzle and serve it today. The sticky date pudding isnāt too sweet, and itās moist plus soft. Not the best Iāve had (that would still go to PS Cafe), but itās pretty decent and makes a nice accompaniment with their drinks.
Iced latte for a sunny Saturday afternoon
Prefer their mint chocolate, but went with this since I needed some morning caffeine ā
Using the 22 Martin blend by Common Man Coffee Roasters, expect a cuppa that's of medium body with a nutty flavour for the Flat White here.
Taro latte in The Lab - this 4-days-old NEW cafe had taken over the space that 7th Cylinder previously resided in. Distinctive taro taste but a tad too milky.
One of the best I've tried. Great presentation too!
Chasing the Monday blues hasn't been this easy.
Dutch Blend. Nutty and sweet chocolatey tones in a smooth and creamy cuppa.
The distinctive taste of this latte comes from Japanese soya sauce being mixed with caramel to create an unusual Asian-flavoured salty caramel. This is then blended with the medium roasted Supremo blend from Highlander Coffee. I find that the "shoyu" caramel rounds off the fine acidity of the coffee nicely without making it sweet, which is what other caramel flavours tend to do.
The Premium Brew is of Kenya Wakulima beans while The Featured Brew is of Panama Paso Ancho beans. Prefers The Featured Brew which has a berries & slight flowerly and slight acidic taste over The Premium Brew's stronger cherry and mire acidic taste. Personal preferrence.

Pay as much as you think their coffee is worth, truly a quaint little store for coffee enthusiasts! #throwback
Heard that they use blends from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee here. Nutty tones with a sweet chocolate finish.
