I'm so happy this opened near me haha. For years it was only in the wild west. It's really good for its price. I ordered soup because I wanted maximum soup. It's so Chinese yet so Japanese haha. I miss it already.

My Saturday Mee Pok. This is the basic Ba Chor Mee ($5), very saucy and I love the combination of minced meat, meat ball and braised mushrooms. Super shiok with kway tiao!

Top: crayfish mee pok dry @ $10
Right: Japanese fusion mee pok dry, miso @ $7

Simply delicious.

The Japanese fusion meepok comes with choice of miso or shoyu and dry or soup. The miso makes the dish a little sweeter than the usual bakchormee, but the blend is great. Comes with generous amount of ingredients too, minced meat, sliced meat, 2 meatballs and 2 charsiew slices. The meatball is tender and the charsiew is tasty.

Went with the crayfish meepok cuz it's the same price as the charsiew meepok which has almost the same ingredients as the basic one. This comes with a bigger bowl of soup which also contains the seafood broth. The noodles and ingredients are almost the same with slight tinge of seafood taste. The crayfish itself isn't super fresh but is okay.

Super satisfying meal and will not stop thinking about it for a while.

While they tasted pretty good, we felt they were on the leaner side and a more fatty cut would have made them more delectable. We chose Shoyu and dry for this, but the use of shoyu was too liberal here, thus the noodles were too salty for our liking.

In conclusion, our favouriteย bowl was Miso soup one. The flavourful soup alone was worth the price, and the ample toppings were a bonus. Skip the $10 bowl, as the char siew slices weren't mind-blowing enough to warrant getting more of them.ย

In addition to the sliced pork, minced pork, meatballs and mock abalone that the former had, this came with two slices of ramen-style char siew. We unanimously agreed that the orange-hued soup, robust and moderately spicy, was the outstanding element in this dish.

Li Yuan Mee Pok, opened by Japanese Naoji Kuribara, offers a bak chor mee-ramen fusion that is insanely popular.ย

Amid the generous servings of sliced pork, minced pork and meatballs, it was the braised mushrooms that stood out in the Soft and juicy, they were exceptional. The noodles, tossed in a delicious sauce, were the perfect carb to go with all these toppings.
