It is glazed with white miso such that it becomes soft and even sweeter when heated. 😋 A different dining experience whereby the dishes are served using a long wooden paddle from the kitchen to your table! .
It takes a little challenge to locate Kurama as there is no visible signage. Simply walk along Millenia Walk's Nihon Food Street and you’ll spot Kurama through a veiled doorway. .
Thanks foodinsing for the invite 😊

Affordable lunch donburis with quality ingredients. Grilling the pork belly skewer brought out the flavour of the meat so deliciously, and the sweetness of the grilled zucchini was pleasantly surprising. Not forgetting a classic onsen egg to add some creaminess to the dish! With the complimentary green tea, this was definitely a very worth it meal, though would save myself from getting the $6 set meal add on.

New lunch options at Kurama including this indulgent Gyu Don with steamed minced beef over a bed of rice. Love the slightly sweet sauce and of course the onsen egg. Mix everything up and it's good to go!
Indulgence packed in wooden boxes that are steamed so that all flavours are retained. Dig in to find tender Wagyu beef mixed with tasty glutinous rice under the blanket of egg and seaweed.

For the yakitori selection, the tsukune was definitely the highlight for me. With the soft bones mixed into the tender chicken patty, I enjoyed the contrasting texture as I bit into it. It was glazed with a sweet soy sauce and paired with a raw egg yolk, which brings a creamy dimension to it.
I don't usually fancy ordering fish with bones. However, the hamachi kama (collar cut) usually has lots of fish meat. True enough, almost the entire piece comprised of meat. Grilled and lightly seasoned with salt, the fish was sweet and nicely complemented by the thin crispy layer of skin. This is a definite must-order for me!
