At least 1kg of crab here. The crab meat is not as juicy as it would be if it was steamed. Couldn't really taste the yam because the shredded yam were all coated with salted egg. Felt a little heaty after eating :/ good for family sharing.

Located near the International Business Park in Boon Lay, Kimly Seafood serves up zi char dishes that are bang on flavour, and worth travelling for even if you don't work around the area — they made it onto Burpple's Hot 100 list last year! Bring along dining companions who like their food super flavourful. There are plenty of dishes to try, one of which is their signature Crispy Yam Salted Egg Crab (seasonal price). There's no need to order mantou for this one. The dry-style dish sees salted egg battered crabs paired with highly addictive deep-fried yam sticks, also coated in salted egg sauce. Tastemaker Michelle Kayla Tey also recommends the Garlic Nan Ru Pork ($13), a Hakka specialty of pork belly marinated in red fermented beancurd, deep-fried till crisp golden. It's so garlicky and moreish, you'll find it hard to stop munching! If you're in a group of four or so, order the Tai O White Bee Hoon ($20 for large), a delicate noodle dish that will offer a good contrast to the other flavour-heavy plates.
Avg Price: $20 per person

Whenever I come here, I'm prepared to down loads of water!😂 it's just so yummy that ya keep going😁 really liked those fried yam sticks, taste like chips, soooooo sinful but so addictive 😅

Finally gotten around to trying their signature dish, despite having been to Kimly a couple of times. Their famed salted egg creation is done "dry style"; while I personally prefer the zhup-py kind (creamy sauce), I quite fancy the savoury, gritty salted egg batter coating those sweet crab claws. Best part for me was the crispy yam strips, deep-fried and coated in salted egg; they were so addictive I simply couldn't stop going back for more.

A Hakka specialty - deep fried fermented pork belly. Crispy and garlicky with a delicate sweetness, this was well-executed; I loved how the delicious oils melted away on the tongue. So good I just couldn't resist having more.

Packed with ingredients, every mouthful guaranteed a nice contrast of silky and crunchy. The stock was a little too delicate for me; my palate's geared towards strong-tasting flavours. Thought this could benefit with a little more wok hei plus some egg ribbons for a thicker consistency. Still, it's pretty good value at just $20 for a huge portion that could easily feed 4-6.

Dinner with the Zi Char gang at Kimly saw us going for the traditional Chilli Crab this time round (one of my favourite versions of this dish because of the accompanying man tous for dipping!). 😍 Ordered 2 crabs for 4 of us which set us back $50+ which is a pretty good price but the crabs were a hit or miss (one of them had a normal amount of meat while the other may have been malnourished or something 😐). Other recommendations are the Homemade Bean Curd and the Yam Ring filled with Seafood.

Since young, I have always loved the taste of dishes where marmite is added in as a flavoring and I have really really high expectations for them. This stall in clementi offers one of the best marmite pork ribs I have tasted. Crispy skin, sweet glazed with the flavourful marmite. There goes my diet. #burpple

Had drunken prawns, special pork ribs, seafood tofu and of course their famous fried red grouper in special Thai mango sauce! It's sweet yet spicy! Almost every table ordered this fish! Not bad! (:

Juicy tender meat.. The pork is well marinated and not hard ...
