Four meat combi @ $30
Fragrant rice @ $1
Veggie @ $5

First time hearing 4 combi, the usual three are roasted duck, charsiew and sio bak, and the fourth is pork ribs.

All are good, the roasted duck is quite fatty so it was extra juicy and tasty. Charsiew was really great and flavourful. Sio bak is okay compared to the rest. The pork ribs is soft and tender and tasted great as well!

Sincerely not up to my high expectations, I would expect it to be alot better for the recipe to be sold for $4 million.

Came here during a weekday dinner, the store was empty, except for just 2 customers(me included)

The char siew really was quite good.

Roasted duck was fairly good

Sio bak can just skip, it wasn't that good.

Price wise, it's pretty expensive, this combination with roasted duck drumstick set me back $17.

Charsiew was nicely caramelised! It’s lean (I like!) but still pretty tender, with a few pieces having some fatty bits. The ratio of lean to fat was to my preference :) Roasted duck was also rather juicy with a herbal flavour, not bad but I found it quite salty so eat it with the rice. Rice is just white rice but was of a pretty decent quality. The additional sauce given was average, lacks a depth of flavour. Wouldn’t mind having this again, but it’s quite out of the way so probably only if I find myself around the area again. Service is not bad, they were quite friendly :)

$12 for this three meat platter is pretty pricey and I probably wouldn’t order it again. This is because I wasn’t a huge fan of the roasted pork, and would rather just the duck and black char siew in my food.
The roasted pork was soft and not crisp, and not that tasty.
The black char siew was really delicious! It had a slight charcoal taste that was not too overpowering, adding a good flavour of char to the meat. It was flavourful and meaty, and I usually like my char siew meaty rather than fatty.
The duck was good as well too. Requested for the meaty part because I don’t like bones in my food😂 at the side they serve a bowl of gravy that goes well with white rice and the duck.
Would come back for the char siew and duck but I must admit that it is indeed pricey for a plate and a place like this.

A deadly plate with artery clogging fats and carcinogenic over charred crust. But yes it was all worth it.

This decadent spread of roast meats for $10.80 is a treat!! They're all fragrant albeit slightly dry. The crackling roast pork is my favourite, and the black charsiew is tender with its generous fats. Nevertheless, felt like its too charred although it has its unique honey-char taste. I prefer Char but i must say this is value for money and worth sharing (one portion is too heavy for me)

...but wasn't really threatened by anything. Ordered both kinds of char siew but without the fatty cut, it's a sad imitation of what Kay Lee was about. Roast meat was totally negligible. This legend continues its descent.

My dad used to dabao this home for our dinner almost once a month and so I’ve always remembered this place to have ‘the best roast meat’.
It definitely didn’t disappoint me as compared to the times when I had charsiew rice at random AMK coffee shops. Yknow how sad it gets when your staple charsiew rice feels like a waste of money and stomach space!?

Still a great plate of roast meat. Very flavorful charsiew and crispy pork skin!!

Gordon ramsay and a bunch of famous people have been here. The char siew looked promising with the black charred outside and "half fatty" inside, but I found the meat too dry and chewy for my liking. Roast pork was respectable tho not amazing. Also, the chilli sucks (not garlic chilli). Will stick to my keong saik road shop as I prefer the meat to be fattier and juicier.
🚗 : Street parking in front of shop is usually unavailable, try the underground parking at the industrial building behind the shop.

The noodles paired well with the roast meat sauce. But it's a big portion really, don't think I can finish!
Never regretted trying their tender honey glazed char siew charred at the sides. The crispy roast meat was another highlight and tasted just as good and not too salty.
Expected 💸 : $10.20

I know they've declined since changing hands, but the restaurants were still okay. Ironic the original stall served me mediocre char siew. It's certainly well honeyed but isn't Kay Lee always fat? Somehow the noodles and seasoning were the highlights.

So happen to chanced upon @kayleeroastmeatjoint earlier during lunch whilst exploring Tai Seng! As Usual, their Glistening Char Siew that was hanging seductively outside the entrance caught my eyes!.

How can we not give their YuanYang Char Siew Rice a try right?

• 3-in-1 Mix Combo w/ Rice (S$10 / plate)
It comes with roast duck, char siew and sio bak. Was impressed by their blackened char siew, it’s so fragrance and the meat-fat proportion is good. Definitely a cut above the rest.
The duck was decent, there’s herbal fragrance but I’ve tasted better ones.
Disappointed with their sio bak (roast pork belly) because it was way too salty. Manage to balance the saltiness with spoonful of rice. Moreover, the skin was not crispy.

• Salted Veg Duck Soup (S$4.50)
Definitely a good bowl of double boiled soup. The saltiness of the soup was on point and there’s a sweet aftertaste. Love their soft salted veggies.

Comes with dark sweet sauce. I usually prefer Siew yoke, but think the Siew yoke here is too fatty. The lotus soup and old cucumber soup is passable. Rating 3/5. #burpple #instafood #foodinsingapore #foodinsing #roastpork #taiseng

2 combination meat with rice cost $7. Almost twice the price compared to the other roast meat stalls. Some might say it is not worth it. But this plate promises quality of the char siew and even the rice. The chilli and plum sauce goes very well with the meat too. If you haven't try it before, do make a trip down to the main outlet at macpherson to taste it for yourself!

It was only So-So, usual. However, the Cha Shu is definitely something different from usual. It had a well balance fat and meat proportion that made it juicy and tender for its texture. The seasoning created a special flavour and produces a unique fragrance when you chew on it.

Worth your calories? Haha definitely but it's slightly pricey. Therefore I gave the rating slightly lower. I manage to get it at staff price. It's probably going to cost $6.00 for the above.

P.S. If you like such Cha Shu, you might want to try out "Char" along Guillemard Road.😘

Blackened, beautiful CHAR SIEW courtesy of Kay Lee - honestly befitting "Char" namesake! There is no gimmicky sweet sauce used pretentiously to hide bad pork here. The Roasted Duck has more to learn from its black brother - go for char siew portions alone, no regrets!

This is where I always get my 3-in-1 roast meats fix.

😋 A little pricey but th charsiew tastes extremely good 👍 Love th fatty meat & th yummy sauce!! Def gna eat this agn! -J

Great minds think alike😊

Quite liked the char siew rice actually. The meat was not too oily and fatty, just the way I like my char siew. I guess I know why Kay Lee is famous, and cost $4 million. #Hawkerpedia
