🦀 Award-Winning Chilli Crab ($108++ for 1kg). Of course we had to try their renowned chilli crab, especially for first-timers like us. I’m not sure if I just haven’t had my chilli crab fix for a very long time before this, but it’s really good as well. Sauce could be watered down a bit, but the mantou buns ($0.80++ each) already balance it

🦞Australian Lobster and Glass VermicellI Braised with "Sha Cha' Sauce in Claypot ($24.80++/100g). There’s an ongoing 50% off promo for this AU lobster so we opted for this instead of the Boston one ($13.80++/100g). We weren’t supposed to order this but the nearby table had it and it smelled so goooood. It didn’t disappont at all! This is the best dish for me. Sauce is very savoury and sweet. Lobster, though teeny-bit overcooked for me, is really good as well. 800g was just enough for the 5 of us. The vermicelli felt like bottomless, there’s just too much 😂

Over at JUMBO Seafood, the CNY 2021 set menus are available from now to 28 February at all their outlets with their Award-Winning Chilli Crab served with golden deep-fried mini buns taking centerstage. Their chilli crabs are no stranger to many, having gained worldwide recognition and feature from celebrity chefs and tourists alike. You can definitely not find a sweet-sour-spicy chilli crab sauce outside that is like JUMBO’s as theirs are made with over 10 different Southeast Asian spices with a subtle eggy fragrance that complements perfectly with their crabs.

The Celebration Set Menus feature dishes such as the chilli crabs, seafood soup braised with crab meat, live ‘Long Hu’ garoupa steamed with preserved radish and boiled live prawns. Prices start from $258 for 4 pax and there is a one-day only Reunion Set Menu on 11 Feb with prices starting from $298. You can also add the Prosperity Salmon Yu Sheng ($58/$88) for the additional huat in the new year.

We continue the crab meat selection with their fried rice to end our meal here.

It took awhile for them to serve this so there’s a bit of wait at the end (wasn’t good if you prefer to eat the sliced fish with the rice).

But this fried rice was surprisingly good for me. Rich in its taste and generous amount of crab meat inside.

Here comes the spotlight of the set lunch, serving one portion for every person.

The sauce was spicy and acceptable portion of the crab meat. This is definitely worth especially when you don’t want to spend too much to grab the crab itself, or having to crack the shell.
