This is the type of wanton mee using “real” charsiew. The star of it is no doubt charsiew with a combination of sweet, fatty and savoury. Surprisingly, it’s not too chao ta to be good charsiew, still it’s not lacking any flavour. Thanks God I did not need to remove all the burnt parts before enjoying. Nothing to shout out about the noodle tho but come here to have good and affordable charsiew. Another ingredient that stands out is its sambal chili with tons of dried shrimp. I even took away $10 charsiew and my father said it was not only super good but also value for money. $10 for 4 persons to share is worth every penny.
It’s located at a small coffee shop, next to the popular Holland Drive Food Centre.

An impressive plate at this value! $3.80 and we got lots of noodles, a whole row of char siew and a bowl of soup with 5 wantons. Our noodles were a touch over cooked so it lost a bit of that springiness, but we still enjoyed this very much. The chunky char siew slices were caramelised well with slight crisp edges. They were more fatty, but you can request for the leaner cuts, which I would next time round. Also remember to get a side of their chilli! This stall, Ju Kee Charcoal Roasted, is just next to Supreme Ramen Xiao Long Bao.

Excellent chunky caramelised char siew , spring noodles , yummy home made chilli.

Honestly haven’t had such a faultless char siew noodle dish in a Long time . Everything was well made .

Ask for a leaner cut of char siew because they serve it the unadulterated Hk style char siew which is typically more fatty .

Piece Of heaven

Perfectly roasted char siew in this discreet coffee shop at Holland drive .

Well marinated and tender and lean .

Brings back a lot of childhood memories - where char siew rice is always the default choice for hawker food and fish and chips always the default choice for western food .

Yums... ......

Damn that’s some fine meat right there. After realizing that New Lucky Claypot Rice had a 90 minute waiting time, I bounced outta there in record timing and ended up at the coffeeshop that is home to Ju Kee Charcoal Roasted.

Joy is a bit of an understatement for just how much pleasure eating their roast meats elicits. Their roast duck is astoundingly savory, the meat thoroughly impregnated with the scintillating spices and staying outstandingly juicy. The skin is roasted to a beautiful brownish hue and and is crispy in all the right places.

The char siew was the hotly disputed winner, with its subtle sweetness, sensual smokiness and stellar savoriness. The meat itself was heaven, with the perfect ratio of fat and meat coalescing to provide a joyous pride with every bite. Better yet, it’s sliced slightly thicker than the minimum required for gluttonous gratification, ensuring maximum pleasure with every chomp.

The siew yoke ain’t no slouch either. Much like the char siew, it was smashingly sumptuous, with the moist meat perfectly balanced (as all things should be) by just the right amount of fat. The charmingly crunchy skin was a joy to listen to as it happily crunches away between your jaws.

With these Three Heavenly Kings, there isn’t really much need for a fourth. Pleasure isn’t something one considers when hunting for good food. But this...does put a smile on my face.

Probably one of the best quality wanton noodle at hawker price. The char siews were chunky and the proportion of lean meat was just right. The edges were well-charred. The noodles were light and springy.
