My dad's hunt for the best Ipoh Curry Noodles in SG brought us to Jian Zao at this AMK coffeeshop. Rich and savoury curry gravy unlike the usual curry mee you might be used to, as well as a plethora of toppings including charsiew, shredded chicken, roasted pork, and long bean. Definitely one of the better Ipoh Curry Noodles I've had recently, though my father was adamant that this wasn't as good as Yap's Noodles (at Golden Shoe/Yishun Park).

I had been looking forward to this stall. It turned out quite ordinary, like most curry mee. The only victory was the variety of ingredients - roast meat, char siew, shredded chicken, tau pok, long beans.

How to resist a bowl of warm and spicy curry noodles especially during cold weather because of the rain?

Here I am enjoy this delicious Ipoh curry noodles. Although it looks super red that’s because they added lots of chili paste to it.

Could be very spicy for some, but if you like it, you will definitely enjoy the spiciness. The curry noodles comes with lots of ingredients such as char siew, shedded meat and the rest.

Signature ipoh curry ($5.50)
Dry chicken curry ($4.50)

🍴Enjoyed these hearty and delicious curry noodles on a rainy day. Their curry was a delicious mix of coconut and various spices, fragranced and brightened with curry and mint leaves. Not too spicy or creamy, a moreish rendition that we slurped up.

Signature ipoh curry was a soup version - lighter on the palette with stronger coconut flavour. Came with a generous array of ingredients - crispy roast pork, chasiew, shredded chicken, tau pok, and long beans. In comparison, the dry curry was thicker and richer with tender chicken chunks and thick-cut potato. Would have preferred for softer potato and more crunchy beansprouts. Tough choosing a favourite but the signature inched out in being more complex and palatable (the dry can get rich nearing the end).

Curry is such a versatile component. It can be eaten on its own (curry soup), over rice (hainanese curry rice), with noodles (chicken curry noodles) and as a bread dip.

@jianzao_ipohcurrynoodle seeks to introduce the Ipoh-style of curry noodles. Unlike the Hong Lim chicken curry noodles, their curry is a lot more robust (a lot more spices are used I reckon), thicker and richer. It also comes with an array of toppings from roast pork, char siew, shredded chicken and French beans.

I personally found it a little robust and rich (too much spices for my Chinese tummy to be honest). I will however recommend that you squeeze the lime provided to add a zesty flavour that cuts through the richness of the curry gravy and bring it to the next level. The siew yok is really good too.

This is good and reminds me a little of the chicken cutlet curry noodles from Cantonese Delights at Hong Lim FC. My personal opinion is that Cantonese Delights is still the gold standard for curry noodles!

The curry wasn’t too thick and the mix of coconut milk and spices made it very addictive.
