This well-loved eatery serving an array of authentic Penang-style dishes, is just a stoneโs throw away from my workplace.
Even so, the classic Penang dessert is easily my favourite item from their menu โ Refreshing bowl of shaved ice topped with coconut ๐ฅฅ milk, sweet gula melaka syrup, pandan jelly and soft red beans ๐ซ. Whatโs not to love?

Finally had the the chance to try some of the Penang food at this eatery which is located just a stoneโs throw away from work.
I love the fruits rojak served here! โฅ๏ธ
The you tiao is what sets it apart from other rojak stalls โ Theyโre soooo crispy and has a biscuit-like crunch to it. The fruits rojak also comes with pineapples, bang kwang [a.k.a. jicama turnip] and cucumber ๐ฅ. Tossed in a thick and robust shrimp ๐ฆ paste sauce, it is truly a match made in heaven! ๐

Have you tried this popular penang food spot in the West?
A staple dish, we couldn't miss out on the ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ง๐ฒ๐ผ๐ ($๐ฒ). Can't comment on the authenticity but the sweet-savoury comes with wokhey. We did feel like the food standards dipped from when I last visited a couple of years back but the undying queues pay testament to the everlasting popularity of this eatery.
Reservations are not allowed, though if you're open to outdoor seats you can skip ahead of the queues!
Add in a dollop of chilli and mix well! This bowl of curry noodles ($5) came with prawns, beancurd skin, chopped long beans, egg, taupok and fishcake. A comforting rendition!
No shame to admit that I spotted this on someone's table and hunted the menu for this dish ๐คฃ Chicken is well-marinated and tender at parts. Rich and flavourful sauce would be ideal for pairing with plain rice. We ordered the small version ($12) that comes in quite a generous portion. Also available in a bigger portion for $22 ๐ธ
Would be back for this! โจ
More commonly referred to as 'ngoh hiang', the packed meat roll is crispy. But overall, nothing to shout out about this or the fried tofu. Would give this a pass on my next visit!
