What surprised us here were in fact the dumplings since they weren’t the specialty at Huo La La. Unexpectedly, the pork meat was quite well marinated, cooked till juicy with slight amount of broth wrapped within the dumpling skin. Amidst the savory, there was a touch of sweetness in the broth. Worth trying! Perhaps the one in chili oil the best time.

Widely known as 肉夹馍, we were excited to see a burpple beyond deal offering this traditional 陕西 snack at Upper Thomson. While perhaps no one has used the deal before, staff were slightly confused but were friendly to help us check out the terms and conditions. Housed under Chongqing Grilled Fish, but note that the Roujiamo is offered under Huo La La in the menu.
The flat bread here has various options of fillings; braised pork, chicken, beef or you could even have it plain. We went with the braised pork and chicken fillings. While they look rather similar with the meat
diced, we felt that the chicken tasted better in terms of its marination that was more flavorful. However, the flat bread tasted more like a 葱油饼 instead of a 馍 that’s usually more like a flour-based bread than a flaky prata.
Nonetheless, we enjoyed 2 flat breads at the price of 1, thanks to Burpple Beyond!
