Hong Ji Shu Shi (Jurong West)

Having been around at Block 505 Market & Food Centre in Jurong West over the years, [鸿记熟食] Hong Ji Shu Shi/ Hong Ji Cooked Food is almost always spotted with a long queue in the afternoon so I will always know when it is open. The stall manned by two different groups of people in the morning and later in the afternoon, I do feel that the noodles are cooked better by the latter so that means fighting with the dinner crowd.

Instead of the popular and common wanton mee, my dad and I would always get the Mushroom Hor Fun with dumplings as since my schooling days, our father-and-daughter bonding time is all about food and the market was a go to place. My dad will always be the one to queue and order while I chope a seat (I am too lazy to queue). The hor fun is smooth and silky while the mushrooms are super juicy. The dumplings I feel fair much better than their wanton so please order them if you are ever there!!! #burpple #hawkerpedia

Really loved the texture of the noodles! 🍜💕💖 水餃湯 - The soup first captivated me with it's rich sweet taste. Then the dumplings were fully firm with rich ingredients that I chewed smaller bites to savour the crunchy meat with chestnuts.
