In terms of convenience, Heng Long Teochew Porridge definitely wins in that aspect as they have several outlets in Singapore and most opens till quite late in the evening. Pricewise, they are not the cheapest around but that is a small trade off for the variety and convenience that they offer. Over at the North Bridge Road outlet, they have a wide array of freshly cooked dishes for you to choose from even though I was there at around 8pm at night and I was told by the staff that over at the Upper Serangoon outlet, they have an even larger assortment of dishes.
Got the usual steamed fish with black beans, fish cakes, braised minced meat and salted vegetables, all perfect to go with a bowl of piping hot rice porridge. The bill came up to $20.20 for what we have ordered, which to me, is a decent price to satisfy my cravings.

It’s a cold night so having this Teochew is really a comfort food for me. The dishes here are nice but at a slightly high cost compares to other Teochew porridge places. However, still can give it a try!
Variety of side dishes to choose from.
The fried pork pieces are not too salty, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Overall, cheap and good!!
3 bowls of porridge with salted egg, steamed egg, omelette, spicy minced pork, cabbage, sweet and sour pork and steamed fish!
Most of the dishes were warm except for the sweet and sour pork, perfect for a rainy evening!
$29.50 for the entire table of feast
This was a fulfilling meal that satisfied my clean and green cravings for the day :) 4 vegetables ($1 each) and a bowl of porridge ($0.50) came up to $4.50.
They have a wide array of choices here, but some of the my favourite ones include the Chye Poh omelette, Chap Chye, and soft spinach. The dishes are pretty fresh and tasty, cooked to the right degree to retain their softness, although they tend to be a bit oilier.
A new branch of Heng Long Teochew Porridge just opened along North Bridge Road (opp Tolido Espresso Nook). You might remember hearing about them from the news about their other branch that got trashed!
A pretty typical porridge meal, it hit the spot for my supper cravings last night. One of the things I loved was this dish of cold cockles ($3)! Marinated with garlic and chilli, you’ll love this if you like Putien’s version.
