Order the Chicken and Pork Cordon Bleu for $12 each as it is the most unique items.

At first when it came, portion looks small compared to what other customer other food they ordered. However after trying half portion of the meat, it is quite filling partly because of the cheese inside the and the batter. Even though it is deep fried, it is not dry.

Only downside is cheese got bit of smell and sides portion quite little.

Overall, a good dish and wouldn't mind trying the other dishes available.

Returned today to Happy Chef Western, this time decided to try the chicken chop.

The chicken chop was really good. This was self prepared type, very old schoolTender and well cooked.

The garlic bread was toasted to a crisp.

Unlike most old school western shops, Happy Chef has a truly unique item on its menu, and that's the Chicken Kiev.

It is basically a Chicken Corden Bleu, a breaded chicken with ham and cheese within. The breaded crust was slughtly crunchy.

The cheese was still rather runny when served, the cheese flows out the moment u start cutting the chicken dish. The cheese was good for me, although would have preferred it a little more saltier.

Chicken was also good, it was not overcooked or dry whatsoever.

It is Served with 2 sides of your choice, with a selection that includes egg, fries, garden vegetables, coleslaw etc.

PS: saw alot of tables ordering the yakitori store inside this same coffee shop, will return to try them as it looks quite good too.

Took a gamble with the black pepper and it came out surprisingly good. The seasoning was not overpowering and chicken was grilled well.

Went to Happy Chef Western Food and want to try their Chicken Kiev but went out of stock for their ingredients already. Decided to order Pork Schnitzel instead ($7) (w BBQ Sauce) was quite salty but their meat was quite chewy (not that hard) and crispy for outer skin. I like their mashed potato to be and coleslaw to be fresh.

Pork Chop ($8) was quite marinated well but their meat was quite chewy (not that hard) and also topped with the gravy well. I usually ordered mashed potato and coleslaw for side dish and got that a variety of side dish to choose from.

You can get a main (chicken chop pork chop chicken cutlet or some steak) at $7-$10 along with 2 other sides (i recommend the potato salad) and it is a huge portion. The best type of comfort food when you want to have something affordable and filling!

Coffeeshop western food that serves delicious meat. Comes with 2 sides of your choice. Happy Chef has recently moved to 465, just one block behind the previous location.

Feeling rather nostalgic of the schnitzels in Berlin, decided to try Happy Chef, next to the ever popular Michelin Star Bar Chor Mee. They were certainly no slouch, as proven with their western food offerings here. For the price you pay, this was delicious and I would very likely revisit to try their other meat courses. I did find the schnitzel too salty tho, if they have dialed it down on that it’ll be great! Hopefully that’s just a one off thing, coming back in the future~

Taste: 7 (would have been 8 if less salty)
Value: 8
Overall: 7.5

Their portions are huge and comes with two sides; I usually get their Chicken Parm ($7) which is more of a chicken cutlet with tomato sauce, but it’s still done well enough. And more importantly, it’ll feed you while your friend waits in line for an hour.

Had the Chicken Kiev (S$11), which is actually a Chicken Cordon Bleu, and a taste of the Fish Schnitzel. Don't think the place is worth the good reviews that it seems to be getting. Perhaps the place used to be good, but that is way back in the past, about 10 years or more.

Stationed right next to the famous Michelin star Bak Chor Mee, this is a stall that serves a pretty good meal at pretty affordable prices. The chicken cutlet I ate remained pretty crispy even though we wait a while for everyone’s food to arrive. There is a selection of sides to choose from eg fries, potato salad, spaghetti and garden veggies. A good place for a meal if you are looking for somewhere cheap!

Food came fast and portion is considered big for $8.50. Two pieces of lamb chop in this.

Initially thought the price is steep for a coffee shop western meal but it came in huge portion so still a pass. Chicken is crispy.

Probably the best steak that I have had from a humble coffeeshop western food stall. The beef was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. We asked for it to be medium rare and was greeted with a steak that was pink but not bloody on the inside with a slightly charred crust on the exterior 😍 mad love for the potato salad here as well ◡̈

The chicken was tender and combined with the ham and cheese, this was nice! However, the fries were slightly overdone. Still pretty good and innovative for hawkerfare!

Chicken fillet pounded and stuffed with soft ham and cheese, with outer layer fried with a crispy bread crumbed batter. You would enjoy this, if you're a cheese-lover like me.

Located at the same coffeeshop as the Michelin-stared Bar Chor Mee. The owner of the stall spend 15 years in Australia serving up Aussie and English style steaks and chops.

Also known as Chicken Cordon Bleu, it is basically chicken breast meat wrapped with ham and cheese inside, then breaded and deep-fried.

Sharing the same coffee shop as the renowned one Michelin-starred Bak Chor Mee stall, this Western stall has an extensive menu to offer. I was pretty much spoilt for choice when faced with a wall of over 30 different dishes.

The combination of a crispy crust, tender chicken, ham and gooey cheese was quite remarkable in terms of flavour and texture. However, the toasted garlic bread was slightly soggy and the two sides of my choice were meh.

Priced at $11, I probably won’t order this again and instead go for their cheaper and more affordable mains.

You won’t believe the number of people who actually asked me what this dish was! Located right beside the Michelin Star Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle, Happy Chef is a humble hawker store that sells a variety of Western dishes, including the usual dishes like Chicken Chop to rarer ones like Chicken Kiev! Each dish you order comes with 2 sides of your choice and there are numerous sides to choose from like Potato Salad and Spaghetti!

The Chicken Kiev is guaranteed to make you full! The crust was crispy, while the chicken was tender and the cheese, as seen in the picture, was AMAZING. Also, I LOVED THE SAUCE 🤤 I ate everything with the sauce but those with a lighter palette, the sauce might be too heavy for you! The fries could use a little more salt and crisp and the spaghetti was pretty average but who am I to complain when this dish was just $11! Super affordable and definitely a bang for your buck!
