The over generous amount of sauce is the best highlight of the dish, next to the crunchy crispy fried cutlet! A hidden gem in Bencoolen—especially a Halal Jap food, will be back for more! 🤤

This beef burger was loaded with mozzarella cheese and other good stuff that I can't recall (whoops). Don't be fooled by the quantity of fries as they'll sure fill you up.

It's hard to find halal value-for-money food in Singapore. This hearty burger was definitely worth it!

Tucked in an obscure corner on the fourth floor of Sim Lim Square is a Hanna’s Fusion, a casual restaurant serving predominantly Japanese cuisine with a smattering of hawker centre western food staples.

Going on the advice of several reviews I saw online, I ordered their chicken katsudon, which turned out to be fairly decent. Tender chicken with a crisp breaded coating is glazed in a subtly sweet katsu sauce and beautifully runny egg peppered with sauteed onions. Sadly the rice beneath was quite clumpy and overcooked.

Plus points? The interior is spacious and quiet, there’s a great floor to ceiling view, and free miso soup and green tea!

The Tempura Udon has a really nice aromatic broth, served with fish cake and 2 pieces of golden brown ebi tempura. The noodles were springy and chewy too. Price: $8.90

The Chicken Katsu Bento Rice Set was okay I felt. It was just a regular chicken katsu that you can find in any typical pasar malam kind. Nothing special to be honest. But for the price that I paid for, it was pretty much your all-round meal with rice, meat and some veggies on the side. Even comes with a miso soup and free flow green tea! Overall not bad especially if you’re on a budget! Price: $9.90
