Solid comfort food spread at Gu Zao Ren Taiwan Porridge. The oat-crusted prawns were the standout crispy, savoury topping, generous portion, seriously moreish. Sweet and spicy clams were fresh and plump in a rich tomato-ish sauce, great with rice. Rounded out with a fluffy fried egg omelette, garlicky sweet potato leaves with a bit of heat, and comforting Taiwan porridge with sweet potato chunks. The chilli sauce on the side went with everything.
Was there on a thurs night for supper/dinner. Managed to get a seat at the aircon area. Ordered a feast and price was good as it only had 1% svc charge and gst. However portions were small. Think quality of food can be better where the zichar werent of a very good quality for the price.
Food overall was alright - though porridge was on the drier side and portions were small, the fish that was on promotion compensated for it. Otherwise, was a rather pleasant experience.
Lovely place for dinner or supper with zichar dishes that taste like they were home-cooked. Affordable prices and attentive staff made for a pleasant dining experience too!
Honestly the food here is underrated. The claypot chicken was smooth and flavorful. We went all out with the zi char dishes and ordered the omelette, stir-fried cabbage and soup as well. Solid zi char at affordable prices. Portions are generous too. Will be back to try more dishes. 10/10 recommend!
Went on a Monday night around 10am as was craving for something warm. Amazing choice compared to the usual supper places. Must get the cereal chicken so yummy! Sat outside, was cooling at night :) will be back again!
