The clams were also fresh and firm yet chewy. Highly value-for-money considering the 2pax portion.

๐‚๐ก๐š๐ซ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ž๐ฐ ($9.80) - Good ratio of fatty:lean meat with enjoyable caramelization, giving it a bak-kwa like flavour.

๐‘๐จ๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ค ($9.50) - Ultra crunchy crackling top with enjoyable meaty centre. Nicely paired with honey mustard.

Peanut Cream (S$4.50++)
Served hot, topped with crunchy peanut sweet
Thick and creamy with a sweet and savoury taste.

Red Bean Cream (S$4.50++)
Served hot, it was thick and creamy without too sweet.

Coconut Ice Cream with Fruit and Granola (S$6++)
It may looked simple but the different textures made it a hit with the little one.

Gula Melaka Ice Cream with Azuki (S$6++)
Among the 4 desserts, this one seem to be the sweetest.

[Somerset, Singapore ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ]

The place was hipster looking. Dim lighted place with bright pink neon lights, plus cheeky paintings on the walls and light bulbs housed in bird cages hanging from the ceiling. Order was taken through iPad. One could scan the QR code on the table to order too.

New Dishes
Sweet & Sour Pork Gems (็ ๅฎ๏ผ‰(S$16++)
Explosive presentation with lots of smoke. Love the thin crust on the meat.

Wok Hei Fried Rice with Roast Pork Crunchies (S$8++)
Could taste the wok hei. Well cooked although would be better if served pipping hot.

White Surf Clams in Savory Tonkotsu Broth Bee Hoon (2 pax Sharing) (S$12.50++)
Lots of Lala in it. Very umami in taste with the rice vermicelli soaked up the Flavours. Thereโ€™s even crispy sole fish in it.

Also had
Seafood Curry Mama (S$10.80++)
Mama Mee topped with fish dumplings, prawn, raw egg, and sliced onion, in curry gravy. Got old school feel.

If you love the roast meat at Roast Paradise, then you will find the roast meat here similar, as Fook Kin is a collaboration with The Muttons from Class 95 FM, burger joint Fat Boys and Roast Paradise.

Caramelized Char Siew ็ขณ็ƒง่œœๆฑๅ‰็ƒง (S$9.90++/ 100g small ๅฐ)
Well caramelised meat served with a sweet savoury dip.

Crackling Roast Pork ๆœจ็‚ญ้ฆ™่„†็ƒง่‚‰ (S$9.50++/ 100g small ๅฐ)
The fatty meat was served with mustard sauce. Love the crust.

Charcoal Roast Duck (S$18++/ 1/4 Upper)
In sweet sour plum sauce (si mei sauce)
Love the juicy meat. Could opt for boneless version when placing order through the app.

Braised Broccoli & Shimeji Mushroom (S$12.30++)
The mushroom was well cooked except for the broccoli which was slightly more raw than preferred.

Accompanied with
Ice Tea with Sorbet Lychee (S$7++)
White Grape Soda (S$4.60++)
Passion Fruit Soda (S$4.60++)
Mineral Water (S$1.70++)
Which were served in old school metal mugs.

Fook Kin on a Friday night. There's still available seats when we left before 8pm.
2nd time I was there, Char Siew was good as ever. Slight crisp tender meat with lotsa fats. Herbal Duck was a tad dry. Roast pork was crispy and thats it. Nothing special for the Curry Maggi mee. Overall meh, won't be back if I'm not ard the area. Ard $72 for quarter herbal duck, roast pork & char view combi, curry instant noodle w roast pork n a mineral water.

@fook.kin has added new items to its menu!

Do not forget to order their classic dishes too!

โญ๏ธMixed Platter ($30++): Super love their charred caramelized sweet char siew. The fat to meat ratio was just nice for me! Roast pork was also juicy with crispy skin!

Itโ€™s been awhile since I visited Fook Kin, and Iโ€™m happy to report that their signature roast meats (char siew and sio bak) are still excellent! Glad to see that the standard has maintained! If itโ€™s your first time here, Iโ€™d recommend getting the Mixed Platter - the caramelised char siew is sweet, nicely charred and has a good balance of meat to fat ratio, while the roast pork has a satisfyingly crispy crackling skin and juicy meat. These pair well with either the rice or noodles, but I personally prefer the latter.
