The 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 ($1.50 per pc), crispy and succulent, were delightful.

We also had two sides. The 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗽 ($4.20) was as tender as its black pepper counterpart, but wasn’t spicy at all. It still tasted good, but not fantastic.

We loved the 𝗧𝗮𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗖𝘂𝘁𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲. The crispy chicken cutlet brought back fond memories of being stuck in a Taiwanese jungle during my army days, and a lone mobile hawker following our battalion in to fry up some chicken cutlets. It was manna for our impoverished bellies.

First, we had the signature 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗲. The pork chop, masterfully marinated and unimaginably tender, was unrivalled.

The egg fried rice at Din Tai Fung is legendary, and ex-DTF chefs leaving the famed restaurant to set up their own hawker stalls selling fried rice is now common. At Fire Rice, what hit us first was the fragrance of the rice. The alluring aroma, coupled with the generous amounts of fried egg hidden in the rice, was impeccable.

Without further ado we sank our teeth in the 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙋𝙚𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙧 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝘾𝙝𝙤𝙥 𝙁𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙚 ($7). We have to say: their egg to rice ratio is just PERFECT and every mouthful of fried rice delivered its eggy fragrance 🥹 that you’d absolutely love
