SG-MY Borders Reopening: Find Out What To Eat In Johor Bahru

That's right, it's time for massages, shopping and most importantly, roadside Ramly Burgers across the border!

Come April 1st, borders between Singapore and Malaysia will be opened to fully vaccinated travellers. This was announced in a joint statement by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his Malaysian counterpart Ismail Sabri Yaakob today (March 24th). We would assume that everyone is excited at the thought of being reunited with their families (and their favourite foods) across the causeway, so we've summarized some key points to take note on this new development.

No Pre Departure Test RequiredDoes this look familiar?

Previously, quarantine free travel across the land border of Singapore and Johor was only available via the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL), and this required a pre-departure test to be done within 2 days prior to your departure, with these new announcements, any form of pre-departure tests are not required for fully vaccinated adults and non-fully vaccinated children aged 12 and below.

You Can Drive InSay goodbye to empty causeway, say hello to bumper to bumper jams

Oh, we see that cheeky smile on your face, it's time to fill up those gas tanks. All forms of transportation will be allowed on both sides of the causeway, which means you can pick from either taking the bus, riding your bike or carpooling with your friends for a short trip to Malacca.

JB Got What To Do?Look at all that food! This could be you once you enter JB!

Dig deep into all your pre-pandemic memories, and try hard to list out all the petrol stations, massage parlours and eateries you frequented before being stuck in Singapore for more than 2 years, done? Well we hate to burst your bubbles but some of those on the list took a hard hit during the border closure and closed down, but fret not, we got you covered on the foodie aspect of things at least, as Burpple is now officially in Johor, so check out our articles here, here, and here, or visit our Burpple Johor Bahru page here. And if you already have the app, simply use the brand new "Select City" function in the profile tab (click the dots on the top right of your screen)!
