Best Restaurants To Celebrate Deepavali At This Year

Oh Deepavali, you magnificent special day. This week, a host of restaurants around Singapore are hosting festive menus for both dine-in and takeaway, showcasing jovial dishes like Masala Prawns and even Chat Masala Foie Gras!

The Festival of Lights is around the corner and in celebration of this joyous occasion, we've rounded up 5 restaurants with both dine-in and takeaway options for the ultimate festive feasting.

StraitsKitchen

For A Special Deepvali Buffet
Enjoy a special lunch or dinner buffet (from $65 per head) at StraitsKitchen, one of the few restaurants in Singapore with Halal-certified theatre kitchens. We're talking a massive spread of Chinese, Malay and Peranakan, and of course South and North Indian specialities – from live stations serving Hyderabad Nalli Dhum Biryani (lamb shank served on long-grained basmati rice), Sikandari Kalmi Raan (grilled lamb leg with cashew nuts and herbs), and traditional Indian sweets like Gulab Jamun (milk dumpling in saffron syrup) and Kesari Aam Kheer (rice pudding with mango and milk).

Shangri-La Singapore

For Diwali Sweets and High Tea
Shangri-La Singapore is introducing a series of elaborate Mithai sweets and hampers, delicious Indian-inspired high tea treats, and an extensive selection of Indian culinary fare for Deepavali! Available for takeaway is an Indian Takeaway Family Feast available for lunch and dinner ($128, serves four), as well as a Milaap High Tea Set ($78, serves two) served on a 3-tier stand, right in the comfort of home. Over at The Line, savour an extensive a la carte buffet of traditional Indian dishes exclusively offered for Deepavali from $68.

Firangi Superstar

For A Festive Menu Paired With Drinks
The recently-opened Firangi Superstar is bringing a special Diwali menu that's available for a la carte orders as well as a dinner set menu from $185 per head. Highlights include The Runner Duck, a foie gras torchon beautifully paired with green apple chutney, and Prized Pincers – crab cutlets are served with rich masala sauce, caviar, and a heady crab rasam on the side.

There are entirely vegetarian options for everything on the menu as well, of course. Like your cocktails? The restaurant has also put together an explorative cocktail and wine pairing list at $99 per head. In the spirit of Diwali, Firangi Superstar will also be donating 10% of proceeds from lunch and dinner sales from now till 6 November to Solar Buddy.

For A Feast At Home
Enjoy your favourite Indian delicacies at home with MANAM's festive delivery set! The curated 5-course menu ($40 per pax) starts with a lovely Chicken Rasam Soup) before diving into starters like Chicken Tikka, Pan-fried Mutton, and very aromatic Masala Prawns flavoured with lime leaves. Then, dig into a Chicken Dum Biryani or Samba Mutton Biryani before ending on a sweet note with tender Coconut Kheer. Dine-in options are also available!

For Indian Classics Done Perfectly
This beloved Shamiana Indian Restaurant along Maju Avenue is offering a festive feast this Deepavali, and you'll even get a free tiffin when you order above $100. With a massive menu of small plates, kebabs from the tandoor, seafood, mutton, breads, rice, and desserts to choose from, be prepared to be spoilt for choice. Community favourites include their Vegetable Samosas, Chicken 65, Ajwani Fish Tikka, Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani and Keema Naan.
