This French restaurant-café with outlets in Tiong Bahru, Orchard, and Club Street has everything you need for your next brunch date - great French fare and an Instagrammable interior. As Burppler Rachel Ng calls it, Merci Marcel is her “all-time favourite French cafe.” Community favourites include the Ravioles de Royans ($18), Tarte Flambee ($24) and the classic Eggs Benedict ($21). Complete the meal with one of their specialty desserts, the deconstructed Lemon Meringue Pie ($12) for a sweet and tangy surprise.

For A French Stalwart
Tucked away in Bukit Timah, Choupinette is a cosy French bistro that's been around for around 20 years. With Burpple Beyond, enjoy an intimate 3-Course Dinner Set Menu ($70 for two) which comes with a starter of Onion Soup or Escargot. Choose from 4 choices of their signature mains — Pork Medallion, Chicken Fricassee, Roasted Duck Breast with Raspberry Framboise Sauce or Whole Roasted Quail with Grape Sauce. End off the sweet night with Creme Brulee or Chocolate Mousse. Burppler Eddie Tay loved his meal, saying that the “Food was very good and wine was paired very well. Service was superb and owners were super friendly.” If you're dining a la carte, remember to ask for their daily specials!

Expect only the best with their extensive variety of house dry-aged beef - choose from Ribeye ($46), Striploin ($46), Hanging Wagyu Tender ($40) or Beef Wellington ($44). If you’re looking to try different cuts, treat yourself to a Beef Platter ($132). Other popular mains include the Ravioli Royan ($32) and Spring Chicken ($38). Burppler Justin Teo loved the wagyu, saying that it's “so well-marbled, with fats spread nicely throughout the meat, such that it was bursting with juices as I chewed on it. Luxurious.”
