HOLLIN

For Daily Pearl Selections
You’ll find a wide range of offerings at Hollin, and exclusive to Hollin are their Rock Salt Macchiato series and fresh handmade boba with flavours that rotate daily. Burppler Michelle, who tried the former, likes how the milk foam is creamy "with a hint of salt that intensifies over the course of drinking.” 1-for-1 deals available.

MILK

For Bubbles and Waffles
Check out this muslim-owned bubble tea shop that opened just recently along Arab Street for refreshing thirst-quenchers and waffles! Decked out with aesthetic pink facade, an eye-catching lightbox and outdoor bar sitting, sit down for a cup of their signature Ice Kacang BBT ($6.80) and fruity Berry Cranberry ($6.80) to seek respite from the sweltering heat in Haji Lane.

For Panna Cotta BBT
Many have commented that the drinks at machi machi have a stronger tea flavour than typical bubble tea shops. Burppler Wenyi Loh is a huge fan of the Creme Brûlée Milk Tea, and "enjoyed the milk tea so much especially when the creme brûlée was being stirred in." Even better with their signature and very Instagram-able bottles. The Panna Cottta topping also makes for a great photograph!

Fruce

For Avocado Shakes
Fruce is a hot favourite among the Burpplers we asked. Burppler loves their chewy yummy toppings, while Burppler halfeaten (Ella) thinks their coconut water is magical. Get the Avocado Coconut Fruce, which Burppler aggs & xi :D exclaims is "creamy, refreshing, with sweetness from the gula melaka." Lighter options include the Passionfruit Soursop and White Grape Okayama (from $4.50).

CHICHA San Chen

For A Taiwanese Favourite
Besides its gorgeous aesthetics, CHICHA San Chen is popular for its freshly extracted and brewed teas that are made-to-order. While the brown sugar milk tea will surely be a hit with kids, Burppler Jasmine L. prefers the Dong Ding Fresh Oolong Tea with milk and konjac jelly (from $4.70). Burppler Khng Choon Yen Wendy agrees, saying “it is balanced with rich cream”.

For light and traditional renditions
The next time you're in Jewel Changi Airport and in need of thirst-quenching beverages, keep this Insta-worthy bubble tea spot in mind. Offering light and traditional renditions to the classic bubble tea, try the Smoked Plum Drink with Lemon ($5.50), Honey Osmanthus Lemonade ($6.80) or Oolong Tea Latte with Pudding ($6.80). Follow Burppler Colman Cheung's lead and get their Wandan Red Bean Oolong Tea ($6.80) for creamy red bean and refreshing oolong. Don't forget to take a pic for the 'gram with their Insta-worthy neon wall like he did!

Yuan Cha

For Rainbow Pearls
Yuan Cha is a low-profile spot for authentic Taiwanese teas with healthier topping choices. Burppler Wei Zhi Chiang is "clearly addicted to Yuan Cha already and all I need is an outlet nearer to me”, and Burppler Yan Abdul Wahid definitely agrees, having visited Yuan Cha four days in a row to try most of the stuff on their menu. Highlights include the Alishan Milk Tea and Rainbow QQ pearls.

Milksha

For Milky Creamy Goodness
There's no way you haven't heard of Milksha, the shop that even has non-BBT fans singing praises. Fans of Hojicha will love their new Houjicha Series, with the delicate and mildly sweet Houjicha Milk and Houjicha Jelly Frost, an ice-blended drink with chunks of refreshing grass jelly. Burppler Jasmine Lim loves how the "jelly is soft and glides down smoothly without the need to chew."

Playmade by 丸作

For Signature Pearls
Playmade is one of Burppler Zachary Kok's favourite bubble tea spots around, as the tea taste is not too bitter and still fragrant. Burppler Foodie Blob agrees, citing the always-long queues at their various outlets. Try the popular alcohol-less Lime Mojito (from $4.30), or the Taiwan Milk Tea with black sesame and burnt caramel pearls.
