Like finally tried their ice cream after a long time. Bc I'm not staying at bedok so it's quite hard to try also 🥲. So I tried their flavour for tea flavour like Yuzu Matcha n Hojicha ($8.50). I saw a lot of interesting flavour out there also. I just like yuzu matcha a lot and got that strong yuzu taste > matcha. I felt that Hojicha was quite average roasted tea and not that strong taste tbh.

Paid a visit to @fatcatsg ‘s newest location at Kovan! First visited their original outlet at Bedok (which was quite sometime before cafes/ice cream shops were as common as they are today) and happy that an outlet has conveniently opened up in the area! Tried their butterbeer and seasonal special flavour pineapple toffee tart. The butterbeer tasted a little too burnt (from the brown butter perhaps?) for my liking but their pineapple toffee tart was a winner! The pineapple flavours helped mellow out the toffee sweetness but the flavours still blended really well. They don’t have a dine-in area but they do have (limited) seats for small groups to sit and chat while eating ice cream/drinking coffee.

FATCAT’s second enclave is just a short walk from Kovan MRT!

Taking on a much brighter tone, this outlet has 18 flavours on display with pints and ice cream cakes for takeaway. Expect to find unique flavours such as Butter Beer (yes, for you Potter-heads), Smoked Oolong & Seasalt Matcha.

Went for their Hokkaido Milk with seasonal Blackforest. Imagine creamy fresh milk ice cream with decadent 70% dark chocolate and cherry jam, it’s a harmonious balance of flavours. But for the purist, nothing hits the spot like a nutty sweet Pistachio.

Waffles were warm, fluffy, and crispy, paired well with the honey osmanthus ice cream which hit both sweet and floral notes! Loved it.

Have been wanting to get my grubby hands on these when I have first noticed that Fatcat Ice Cream Bar have been offering cold brews; after all, while usual cold brews are pretty much a common sight everywhere, Fatcat Ice Cream Bar’s variant brings the usual cold brew a little further with its infusion of their own house-made ice-creams.

With three different flavours to go for (Hokkaido Milk, Mocha and Matcha), my choice was the Hokkaido Milk — pretty similar to that of the usual Cold Brew (White) that are often seen at other specialty coffee cafes that are part of third-wave coffee movement. The Ice-Cream Milkshake Cold Brew (Hokkaido Milk) from Fatcat Ice Cream Bar whilst being distinctively more creamier in terms of flavour, still carried a more liquid consistency than other creamier cold brews like the ones offered by Curious Palette/Stranger’s Reunion/Wakey Wakey and Brawn & Brains. Their rendition is also sweeter, perhaps due to how their version employs the use of ice-cream over normal milk and sugar syrup that other spots tend to use, but is still pretty well-balanced by being a more richer and punchier concoction overall; still evident is the coffee’s earthy and nutty notes amidst all the creaminess and sweetness going on — one that I actually quite liked and would go for again.

Whilst Fatcat Ice Cream Bar is probably best known for their Mojito Spheres and Charcoal Waffles with Salted Egg Sauce in their beginning years, it is interesting to see how they have since also included other items such as the Ice-Cream Milkshake Cold Brew in their menu — an interesting move that gives them a wider variety than the usual ice-cream parlour elsewhere.

Went on a Friday evening and it was def crowded! Got the charcoal waffles with Thai milk tea + earl grey lavender! One of the best waffles out there! Crispy and had a great burnt taste, and the ice cream were a great combo too! Love the ice cream and would certainly come back again

The bestttttt coffee in Singapore if you're a piccolo latte lover. They're more known for ice cream and waffles, but their coffee is definitely top 3 over the last 5 years in Singapore. We need to give them a lot more credit for topping the touted specialty coffee cafes sprouting up, dime a dozen each week.

Not sour/acidic, nor burnt. Milk is frothed smooth and served at the right temperature, ending in a cup that is perfect notes of coffee and latte. 😸

Bonus: on Mondays you get 2nd cup for 50% off.

When I first chance upon this store, I didn't really have high expectation as a lot of ice cream stores Ive tried were only average. However, fatcat really suprised me with the ice cream and waffles. The ambience of the cafe really brings a cozy and warm feeling that makes you want to stay there!

I've ordered 2 scoops of ice cream and paired it with a charcoal waffle. There are 2 waffle flavours (charcoal and brown butter) but I decided to eat the charcoal one as it looks really appealing. I went on with choosing my 2 scoops of ice cream (Yuzu matcha and shoyu caramel). The waffle is a little pricey which cost $6.50. The 2 scoops cost $8.50 + $1.40 for premium flavours. The total cost would amount to $16.40.

The dessert came in about 10min or so as they had a lot of customers. The waffles was the first thing and tried and boy did it not disappoint. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside paired with its burnt flavour from the charcoal really made it one of the best waffle I've eaten. The Shoyu Caramel was had a distinct shoyu flavour. Paired with the caramel, the combo is really divine. For caramel lovers out there, I would definitely recommend this. The matcha yuzu flavour was delicious as well. However, i dont really taste the matcha as the yuzu overpowers the flavour of the ice cream.

All in all a good ice cream cafe to go to. I would definitely go out of my way and get myself an ice cream if I'm feeling for desserts! A very strong 9/10 😊😊🍦🍦

Finally got the chance to try FATCAT, and I was left impressed by the ice cream flavours and waffles. The Osmanthus Honey had a strong tea flavour, while the Lychee one (can't remember the name) was incredibly refreshing! However, both were abit too sweet. The waffles were really crispy yet soft and fluffy within, really the kind of waffles I was looking for!

I can finally declare that I’ve found my favourite ice cream place in Singapore 🥰. Mad that I’ve only given them a try now, YEARS after constantly passing by them.

Friends and I decided to get the Charcoal Waffle (S$6) with 1 ice cream flavour each: Earl Grey Lavender ☕️ (S$4.50), Black Sesame (S$4.50), Vanilla 🍦(S$3.90) and Smoked Peppermint (S$4.50) 🍃. My expectations for ice cream flavours that are out of the ordinary are pretty low, there’s usually one aspect that always disappoints: too icy, melts too quickly, not creamy enough, etc.

BUT OH DAYUM, FATCAT KNOCKED ALL 4 OF US OUTTA THE PARK 🤤. Every single flavour was incredibly well executed:
1) you could taste both the earl grey AND the lavender, I could even spot lavender bits.
2) the black sesame was full of depth & well-balanced with the creaminess.
3) the smoked peppermint is the MOST unique flavour we’ve ever tasted, it definitely was S M O K E Y.
4) there was NOTHING vanilla 😉 about that vanilla ice cream.

I’m not a fan of anything charcoal flavoured. Honestly, does charcoal even really have a distinct taste to it? But this waffle at Fatcat has won me over, it definitely had a distinct flavour to it while being oh-so-soft on the inside & crispy on the outside.

I am mostly definitely bringing everyone I know to Fatcat 😻🐈🐱

Ordered Pu-er and earl lavender icecream
• both flavours taste great and went very well with the crispy-on-the-outside-soft-on-the-inside waffles
• highly recommend to try all different ice cream flavours

After a hefty dinner in Bedok, we decided to take a stroll to Fatcat Ice Cream Bar for some dessert to satisfy our sugar cravings. We ordered the brown butter waffle and a scoop of tiramisu ice cream to go along. Like any good waffle, this was super crisp and fluffy. It has a slight hint of nuttiness that goes perfectly with the salted cameral sauce that was artistically drizzled around the waffle. The tiramisu ice cream was super rich and creamy with hints of espresso and a slight kick from the coffee liqueur. We would definitely recommend people who do not like their ice cream to be overly sweet to try this!

National Day Special
.
Inspired by local breakfast favourites, FATCAT created this by incorporating real youtiao bits into soya milk gelato
.
The gelato was really thick and smooth which indicates a good gelato
.
However the youtiao bits were quite frozen and hard which didn’t compliment the soya milk gelato
.

The white chrysanthemum flavour was light to taste, but a tad too sweet to my liking. Felt like the Pokka white chrysanthemum drink with cream and more sugar😂 but still, an interesting flavour to try for a chrysanthemum lover like me😅 the Pulut Hitam was not bad as well, however with very subtle notes of glutinous rice flavour only. This flavour wasn’t very strong, so be sure to eat it by itself or eat it first, as other flavours can easily overwhelm it.

This ice cream was a sad case of bad pairing on my part. Two strong flavours coming together was a no go. Another no go for me was the sea salt matcha as well. I personally expected a stronger taste of matcha in this scoop, but to me it was just salty.. which didn’t make the taste very pleasant. On the other hand, the black sesame was really good! Thick and of quality, but I suggest eating it with other flavours, because it might get way too strong if you just eat it on its own. The charcoal cone was crisp and actually quite delicious, but I don’t really know how to describe the difference with a normal cone - you’d probably have to try it yourself. Priced at an additional $2 however, I might only get the cone when I’m hungry😂
P.S. service when I went was so bad to be honest. I understand that it’s a small ice cream bar and always flooding with Long queues. But the staff kind of chased my friend and I out as we were finishing our ice cream (we weren’t finished with it yet). Paying a pretty exorbitant price for ice cream because of their service charge... I don’t see why I can’t eat my ice cream at my own pace but have to rush to let customers in? Don’t charge me service then if I’m only allowed to sit in for like 5 minutes? Not to say I was going to idle at my seat or chill for hours after eating, I would definitely have left once I was done!.. but we weren’t really finished, and being ‘rushed’ was really not appreciated. So.. I Guess if you really wanna try just takeaway. Avoid GST too lol.

• finished within a minute 😋

• many delicious flavours to choose from and they have bubble teas now too!

Made using dried osmanthus flowers and organic honey
.
This ice-cream had a weird sweet flavour as the osmanthus flavour overpower the honey taste
.
It took me a while to get used to it
.

Pandan gelato mixed with brioche bread
.
The gelato was really smooth which indicated a good gelato
.
I had a nice refreshing coconuty jam flavout whereas the sweet and buttery brioche bread pieces added a nice textural depth to the gelato
