I always enjoy salmon that's slightly charred (or any other meat for that matter), for that tinge of bitterness. The salmon meat was tender, and went well with the sweet savory teriyaki sauce. I am pretty particular when it comes to sauces, dressings, garnishing because I think these are crucial in the finishing of a dish. So, yay to the sesame seeds with their nutty flavor and the freshness from the spring onions! Not forgetting the preserved pickles and the savory, marine blend coming from the nori strips. But the amount of teriyaki sauce was really just enough to drizzle on the salmon, leaving the bed of Japanese rice at the bottom too plain and dry. Onsen Tamago can be added on at $2.
