Occupying just a small unit in the Toa Payoh heartlands, The Twisted Trio was a great find - a cosy space to rest your feet while munching on delectable cakes and sipping on a cup of coffee.

Mildly earthy and rich, lovers of the nut will love their take on the Pistachio ($7) cake. Brimming with pistachio aroma and flavour, the slice was layered with moist sponge, decadent cream and finished off with more chopped nuts. Not too sweet, the sponge was sufficiently soft but the buttercream was a tad dense and heavy for me. Slightly cloying towards the end, the cake is best when shared in my opinion.
