Apart from stellar sourdough, this Eastside hotspot also turns out a pretty wonderful steak — perfect for days you feel like both carbs AND protein. Its casual yet buzzy ambience makes it suited both for a laidback date, as well as for a fun catch-up meal with friends. Order the Rangers Valley Striploin (300g, $38), which Burpple Tastemaker Felicia Sim declares to be "juicy, flavorful and tender to bite". This is further complemented by the side of wood-fired Jerusalem artichokes. Don't be put off by the charred exterior — their insides are soft and incredibly sweet. The food here is generally done very well, so you are unlikely to go wrong with whichever other sharing plates you choose to order. Enjoy them all with the Firebake Bread Board ($10), which showcases the best of their made-from-scratch bread, served with salted butter and olive oil on the side.
Avg Price: $50 per person
