This is a pretty interesting one; comes whole but I have to show the insides because this is where it gets very interesting — Nian Gao, Pineapple Frangipane and Puff Pastry. Just think of it as a puff pastry (similar to a chicken pie) that encases sticky, sweet Nian Gao with zingy pineapple frangipane lined at the bottom for a bit of contrast. It's a little pricey at $8, but let's just say it's worth paying for something that is conceptually new and with a daring take especially using the Nian Gao — something that is still rather uncommon around until the Chinese New Year season.
