Dad is already a fan of this store, even chatting with the fellow kuching-born owners with his suggestions. White Kolo Mee ($5.50/$6.50) was classically simple yet fragrant and flavourful - we slurped up the al dente Kolo Mee tossed in shallot oil so quick. Char siew, minced meat, and lard but added meatiness and crunch to the mix. Sarawak Laksa ($7 for Beehoon) packed a spicy-sour oomph and was so so rich and lemak. Condiments was also self-service so we could add as much chilli and lard and lime as we desired. Tip for Sarawak Laksa: try the soup straight, then with lime, then with the chilli mixed in, to appreciate the different flavour components coming together! Only downside was that the chilli isn't as good as traditional Sarawak style (this was the one my dad gave suggestions for)
