Since flour and pancake mix have become a scarce commodity in the supermarket and Phoon Huat, you can check out Pacamara’s Pancake ($18++). It’s available for takeaway and delivery during the CB period.

Two pieces of thick pancakes stacked on top of each other, a selection of fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries, half a slice of poached pear, berries compote, some candied nuts and almond flakes. Ending it off is a scoop of vanilla ice cream. What a photogenic mess.

Reviews on their pancakes have been a mixed bunch. Some said it’s dry and hard while others say it’s soft and fluffy. I found it the taste of the pancakes to be in between of those two spectrums on my visit there, but certainly not the best. The sweetness of the berry compote complemented well with the fresh fruit. And the ice cream’s not only refreshing to have in our tropical heat, but also soften the pancakes.

I would like to try their French toast next time and see how this compares to their pancake. It seems that the Who Spilled Their Jam French toast is equally popular as well.
