The menu at Okinawan Diner Nirai-Kanai lists so many small dishes and appetisers it's almost like you can have a meal composed entirely out of them! Not that I did (although I was severely tempted) but I ended up getting the Seasoned Chicken Livers ($9++) and Pork Miso with Cucumber ($7++) to try.
Of the two, I preferred the former. Usually soft and creamy in texture, the chicken livers here were very firm from being marinated for a period of time in soya sauce.
I wasn't too crazy about the pork miso as I found it too sweet but its "hae bee hiam-like" texture was interesting.
A word of warning about the miso soup. Only order it if you can handle extreme saltiness.
