Saw fellow Burpple Tastemaker Fiona Ting's post about this place and decided to make it my lunch destination — apart from this, Scorch also serves up Nasi Lemak and Chinese desserts; it's pretty much your simple, no-frills, hole-in-the-wall local eatery at Clifford Centre that one can easily miss.

No regrets getting this here because I must say this is really delicious; an ultimate saucey delight that comes with Japanese rice. The rice is generously drenched with the savoury braised sauce that the slow-cooked braised pork belly is simmered in while the meat is absolutely tender and melts in the mouth; extremely yummy with a good texture as opposed to the minced meat some outfits attempt to use for this dish. The pickled cucumbers also carries the right level of tanginess to cut through the meatiness; very well-executed. One of those must-try places for Braised Meat Rice lovers; it's brilliantly executed and really affordable — went for the $3 small portion but there is also a $5 option as well for something more substantial. Must say I am pretty torn between this one and the Seah Im Food Centre version after trying this one!
