Follow that scent as you walk into Holland Drive Market and Food Centre and you will find this old school claypot chicken rice. The rice is slowly cooked over charcoal stoves and during peak hours, be prepared to wait. It's well worth the wait as you will be rewarded. The chicken here is tender and juicy. We had ours with lap cheong, yuen cheong (liver and Chinese pork sausages) and harm yue (salted fish). I had several bowls of this rice. Can't stop at one. Once you reach the bottom of the pot, that's the best part, the crust. Here it's done just right and you can munch or crunch away. We also ordered some Siew Pak Choy to balance out our meal and a bowl of lotus root soup. Dinner for three coats SGD 29. I can see why they earned a mention on the Bib Gourmand list. Food here is cooked the old school way and tastes great!
