USDA Prime Rib Eye

Got this ribeye, it was so good and really worth. $88 for 340grams, 250-day grain fed, 4 weeks wet aged. View is not bad too and quite family friendly!

Only seasoned sea salt is added and broiled at approximately 980 degrees Celsius to achieve the recommended medium-rare doneness. To emphasize the fabulous taste of the USDA Prime Ribeye Steak, diners are served with four homemade sauces (Red Wine Madeira, Au Jus, Peppercorn, Mushroom and choice of four gourmet mustards). They also have excellent bread, steak tartare and jumbo lump crab cake as a starter. A reflection of the ethos of Australian culture in an elegant vibe and dazzling city skyline view with good steak, starters and desserts with your loved one on Christmas – doesn't it sound perfect?

During this media tasting, we were brought along a specially curated menu that showcases the wide repertoire of the restaurant. From the starters of the Steak Tartare ($28) and Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, it slowly transitions to the main highlight of the night before rounding it off with desserts.

Going to a steakhouse, you cannot not order their steaks and for the main course, we were treated to the USDA Prime Rib Eye ($78 for 12 ounce) where it’s firstly lightly seasoned with sea salt before going into the 980 degrees Celsius Southbend broilers for the perfect medium-rare doneness. Served with four homemade sauces of Red Wine Madeira, Au Jus, Peppercorn and Mushroom, you can have a different mouthful of flavours from each bite.

For an alternative piece of meat, you can also order from a list of seafood dishes and what impressed us was the Pan Seared Barramundi ($50) that’s served on top of lyonnaise potatoes over a bed of reduced tomato sauce made with olive and capers. Squeeze in some Tahitian lime for that additional zing to bring the entire dish to life.

Located on the third level of Swissotel The Stamford, this beautiful restaurant is elegantly decked out and bathed in natural light, which makes it the perfect place for both lunch dates and business meetings. The service is spot-on too. Leave the flipflops at home and dress up for this! A new addition to their revised lunch menu, the Wagyu Beef Cheeks ($29) are braised for 14 hours in port and beef jus, resulting in an amazing depth of flavour and melt-in-the-mouth meat. The dish is also incredible value for money. If you're up for a treat though, try the much talked about USDA Prime Rib Eye ($84, 340g). The 150-day grain fed, wet-aged steak is a classic that's grilled to perfection and absolutely worth the splurge.
Avg Price: $60 per person (at lunch)

The five course brunch was of great value. But if you're like me who love ribeye for that lovely layer of fats around the steak, then there's an option to upgrade the steak for $30++. I personally felt that the Australian Sirloin set at $48++ was more value for money. The grilling was perfect though, with optimal medium rare doneness. Chef Dinesh has grilled this very well.

$80++ for a piece of steak. The staff did not serve me the four sauces. 😭

Usda ribeye

perfect for your meatosaurus date! At a more reasonable price point compared to Morton's (yum) and Ruth Chris (yuck), yet comparable (to Morton's) in service and quality. steaks are accompanied by 4 types of sauces (mushroom, red wine, peppercorn, au jus) and 4 types of mustard. sides are $12-14++. I liked the creamed spinach, sautéed onions and baked potato (HUGE, with a lovely chewy skin).
